its only a 12...
I know, who still DragRaces a ZX12...lol
Well I was @ RacewayPark Englishtown, NJ & ran a pump gas ET & MPH best on Betsy, my 61" wheelbase 2002 zx12...
reaction..... .043
60' ..........1.502
330 ..........3.951
1/8mile........5.963
mph ..........121.73
1000 ..........7.714
1/4mile.......9.210
mph ..........153.72
I was surprised to see this ET, but there wasnt a bit of bog so due to a 53degree temp, 32% humidity & the barometric pressure @ 30.01 thats the result...

Thanks guys...
I've been accused of having touched the motor, but not much anymore since Im consistant and I always let guys check the 12 out when they question my ETs...
Sometimes real low ETs pop up when every condition is just right...

Wow Rick, almost 154 on a pump gas stock motor is flying! I'm sure you've posted this a hundred times, but tell me again what's been done to this motor? Great pass. -Dean

Betsy has over 2000 passes on her!!!...I stopped counting after the 2000th pass...
Started using RedLine 10-40 synthetic after 1000miles & no DragRacing until that mileage...
Changed the RedLine oil & used a Kawasaki oil filter every 30-40 passes...
The motor has never been touched !!!

the zx12s are more robust than some think. i my self waited a year and 4500 mi before thrashing my bike. there are a lot of miles of riding 100mi round trip to the track and making passes and last cranking compression check was in the 220 psi zone.
good job rick.
you asked me a bit ago how many passes i have on my bike. i honesty do not know. but i know there are 10,000 trouble free miles of dragracing and riding it to the track and home since 2003. i just know it is a lot.
your skill level is higher than mine but it would be a very kool day if we both could be at the same track and do our personal bests the same day.
rick how far is maplegrove from you?
rick this year hand clutching 4 springs shimmed up a bit and 2 to 3 arms no weight for just a bit of slip for help in the 330 and keeping my clutch pull on the eaiser side.

paul i think the no weights on 2 to 3 arms will be about as close to a easy to modulate clutch by hand but still let it slip some when let go somewhat too quickly under a hard load but not throw the front wheel. my licence plate is junk now. lol
i will get back into the low 1.5s again i just hope it does not kill my 330. that is why i put the lockup on.
this 2.0mm muzzy less plate setup slips much nicer. the first normal size plates clutch was ok to pull out on. then the next year i can get the low 60ft but nomatter what it enguaged eairly and killed my 60ft. hell i though something was wrong with the engine for a while. that is when i noticed a 1.55 60ft had a 4.25 330. that just sucks.
so here we go new year. rick is well on his game. i need to find mine again.

Dean.....My 12 has an Akrapovic SS pipe, 16-46 gearing, Coby Adams welded extended OEM arm set @ 61inches, lowered, catalyst fiberglass seat, tiger tail, double bubble windscreen, muzzy block off plates on valve cover, muzzy aluminum fan, Michelin power1 inflated to 32lbs, RedLine 10-40 synthetic oil...Those are the only mods.....I use the OEM air filter, OEM timing, OEM clutch & springs but I removed the small friction plate & 2 metal rings replacing them with a full size friction, right now I have 11 frictions with 10-2.0 steels but get the same results with the 12 frictions & 11-1.6 steels, no Power Commander, use BP 87 octane pump gas...
