Gainesville raceway 1-25-2003 who's a man?
Who's going? It is cold as hell right now 16 deg.High tomorrow is low 50's.I'm planning to go.

YCIS,
As far as I know (went for 22 years) Bike Week is the first full week of March. Dates could have changed since I quit going. Thank you Harley riders/posers for showing the locals that you don't mind 5-7 night minimum hotel stays or outrageous prices. The rates were always kinda high but went crazy when the wanna-bees took over.

You're right dan. The rates they charge for rooms now is crazy.I usually just go for a day.
I might should have titled this thread "who else is a dumbass for going to the dragstrip when it's in the 20's" . I put a 48t rear on today , so I'm running 17/48. I hope it helps my times.

The 17/48 was better I think. My best pass today was 10.38@141,I ran a high 141 on one pass.I had a lot of fun today.There was way less than half the people there today.
Chris jones who has a turbo busa ran 8.20@181. He ran 2 passes10.2?@181The guy that rides for chris was on it.Man that fucker is fast.
Temp was in the high 50's!

I am going 17/51 on my drag bike kevin. Jeff (HPC) sold me the 48t sprocket specialties(alum,hardcoated) for $50,no tax!

Kevin I'm putting the block on myself tonite... not looking forward to it, but with the studs and 2-3 thou bore clearance, hopefully it won't be too bad this time.

Dayyymmm! Still stock wheelbase? That's flyin!
Got the block on with only the minimum of cursing. Degreed to 110/104 last night. Quadruple checked. I have at least .075 clearance on the exhaust, from 30 BTDC to 30 ATDC, same for intake. Like to get it on your dyno and see how it likes it. The retainers look schweet - 95 grams versus 155 for the stockers.
I SHOULD be getting the frame back from Toby soon - maybe in time to race this Saturday.

Did the Busa have a stock arm? The times are real quick to have a 118 trap speed. Just curious.
Do you guys have anyone on anything in the 5's on a stock arm?

nevermind...went to the track tonight...apparently he didnt show up sunday either.
Ran a best of 6.72@115 on motor tonight....I was impressed...then I took a look at the sight glass...it was completely full
I didnt even spray....I hope its not what I think

No one I know has been 5s on a Stock arm...
The Bbusa has 0-6 arm...it is at about 5 right now...I was NOT comfy on the bike (NO excuses) I KNOW I can run 5s on it...
I ran a 5.18 117mph on the same Bbusa with stock arm...only have a few (less than a dozzen) runs on bbusas...
We tried something diff with the sprokets on this Bbusa (similar to John's) it's geared for 5th-gear 1/4-mile but...since Bbusa-s don't rev as high we HAVE to shift 4th in the 1/8

There's no one around here in the 5's with a stock arm but I think it's possible. Chad ran some 6 teens (high) last Fall at 123 on his 12, it's got a pipe, pc3, & strapped, that's foot shifting on a stock arm. He is almost as quick on the 600 (6.20's) but a tad less mph :-). I predict that BA will be the first one in the 5's on a stock arm...He is good!
Your times are equally impressive and on a variety of bikes just shows how good of a rider you are.

I seem to have almost (I sucked on Kings bike ) always had "good luck"??? when it comes to "being one with the machine" at the track
Todd (Ryan's Cuz) told me he's been 9.20 on a Stock motor, Stock length Bbusa that was "race prepped"...SLAMMED with the seat lowered...
If anyone will do it...it will be BA...I second that one OKB
Chad might just do it though!!! 123 is KILLER MPH...he has the HP for sure...
We are putting a SLICK on John's bike with the DryShot so it will be interesting to see how WE do on it?!?!?!
