bad test and tune

went to cecil drag way last sat and ended up busting my oil pan. on my third pass i set the front down in the top of second gear and punched a big hole in my oil pan keep'd the bike up for about 5 sec then down i went rolled passed the traps. They just treated the track and when i was rolling it sounded like one long Velcro tear. ended up with a sprained wrist and lost of back pain leathers held up great no rash I'll post some pics of the bike later.

No....Because the oil pan IS the lowest point....Hell if you just move the drain plug to somewhere else will be a big help, but a lowered/modified stock pan will work too or get one already made form a manufacturer.....Glad you made it through it ok.....

Ouch. Damn Todd, sorry to hear about that. Got my spare motor sitting upside down with the oil pan resting on it, don't "NEED" one right now so if you need it asap let me know...but sounds like you need to heal up and start looking the bike over to assess any and all damage. May want to try and get it winterized now just to minimuze the crap in your fuel system next spring. Throw some extra air in the tires and'or get em off the ground & put the battery on a tender. Saves you money next season.

Glad you're well enough to post and let us know.

I ran my 14 at Bristol a few weeks ago and wheelied, when I came down I chopped the throttle and moved over toward the wall thinking that I surely busted the pan.........luckily I didn't.

What all is it gonna take to get your 12 going once you get well?

Here's hoping you heal quickly.

Dan

yes guys it was one hell of a day.
the announcer said "well guys we have some oil on the track but he is up and walking around so that is a good thing"
now all of us close friends have blooded the track. two left lane (them) me right lane.
next thing i think is where the hell is todd? we all parked next to the water box to it was a short trip to see him waiting to get the track cleaned up.
except he was not there and Mr Long said he thinks it was "that guy" on the red bike.
dam what a bad season for todd.
todd i see in the picture the rag location. i bet you are correct in hitting that spot first. i thought it was the upper rear of the pan twards the back of the engine.
