Has anyone got their crank back from Falicon on time?
Just wondering if ANYBODY has gotten a decent turnaround time from Falicon recently? They have had my crank for a total of about 17 weeks!! Let me explain this, I sent them my crank thru Flo-tec racing back in july. Well Falicon said about a 4 or 5 week turnaround, OK I sent them my crank for a normal 4mm stroke job. About 9 weeks later we get the crank back, & guess what? They cut off the starter gear. Well, Falicon says their mistake sorry, their training a new guy and he just got done doing Busas and they usually cut off their balancer gear so he thought he was supposed to cut my 12 also, ANYWAY they got me a NEW crank from Kaw & STILL have it to be stroked this was 8 WEEKS AGO. Do they treat EVERYONE this way? I will NEVER use them again, best or not their customer service SUCKS!!!

Personally I have found their reputation far exceeds their performance. They don't get my stuff to work on.

They balanced my crank last winter and got it back to me in a week. They said 6 weeks if I wanted it stroked. I think they get lots of jobs and are always backed up.

Damn Addison, had I known that you could have picked up a 5mm stroked crank at Gainesville in Nov. for $900 outright.

When you go to buy gas, the best priced gas stations have the longest waits. The worse priced, you can drive right up to the pump. Go to a shop that does good work and there is a wait to get in. Go to a place that does not do good work and get "Worked On" right away. If you are the only game in town, you control the game. Considering that they are the game in town, there prices are reasonable and the wait is also reasonable. The problem with getting bigger is you need more people. No one starts out knowing everything and must learn. The problem is you want him to learn on someone elses bike / engine. In this case, you were the other guy. I really hate this for you, but you can apply one of my life statements.

Use all of this to your advantage! When it comes time to pay! A new guy was trained on your crank and his learning cost you a season. Now, they would not ask you to pay anymore than what you have gone through would they??

We just got a GSXR 750...3mm stroke from them...I think it took 4-6 weeks...
It is absolutely Bee-U-timus too!!! First class looking

Yeah, it has been the rebuild project from hell. The bike been down since 6-10-02. When my exhaust valve hit the top of the #3 piston,it took out just about the whole engine. All 4 valves for the #3 piston, chewed up the #3 combustion camber, cracked the top of the #3 cylinder meaning the block had to be replaced, bent the #3 Carrillo rod, the #3 piston was trashed. Found out from JE pistons that the 3mm over pistons were replaced by a new version meaning I had to buy a complete 4 piston set(again). Decided to buy all stainless steel valves from Kibblewhite, waited for weeks got the valves then found out they were defective(their whole production run was bad) finally got the valves then the heavy duty silicon springs were on backorder, finally got everthing, waiting on the crank back from falicon then I get it back from them with the starter gear cut off. Lucky for me, I got a new gxsr1000 for the summer(peaky little devil, but quick) as I was NOT going rideless for the summer!!

Falicon cranks
I have personally used Falicon twice. The first crank was a stroker for a Honda CBX in the early 1980's. Falicon returned the crank when promised. This crank was a 5mm stroker and lasted 2 race seasons before it broke. The second was a 3mm ZX-11 stroker that lasted on the street for one year before breaking. The ZX-11 crank was purchased through Muzzy when Falicon was doing they're cranks. I don't fault Falicon or Muzzy for either crank failure, but I will never use welded stroker cranks again. Theses cranks are inherently weaker than new forged cranks. Both my cranks failed in the same manner. They both cracked at the outer edge of the # 2 rod journal. This is not to say that all welded strokers fail. I have 2 friends with Honda XX's running Falicon strokers with no problems so far. The 3mm XX stroker has 38,000 miles on it, and the 5mm stroker has about 10,000 miles. Neither Honda is making the kind of HP or TQ as a stroked ZX-12.

FINALLY got the crank back from Falicon!!! They ONLY had it for a total of 20-24 WEEKS!! Have to look up the original ship date to be sure. They had it for soooo loooong, the EXACT time frame is kind of cloudy. Needless to say, THEY WILL NEVER, see another crank from me again. Ever since Falicon sold out a few years ago their customer service has went to hell. Still do real good work though, just don't hold tour breath waiting for it to come back!!

That blows. I hope they gave you some kind of break on the price.
Kevin would say in all caps that you should flush the oil passages on that crank til the cows come home. They send them out full of shavings and crud.
