help with priming brakes?
got a 04 gsxr 1000 that i pieced 2gether between a crashed bike and a drag bike with a blown motor.i cant get the master cylinder 2 push the oil threw,but when i take it off and put my finger over the hole and push the rod down it pumps air.i got 2 master cylinders and 2 brake calipers and i swaped them all out.im new to streetbikes i was always into dirtbikes but its all the same.i know on ktm dirtbikes u got to use like a suringe and like prime the cylinder. anybody got some help for me

TT, you might try a Mityvac, suck it into the system

Mityvac is the best option, if you don't have one try moving the handle bar around so the master cylinder changes postion. This will let air bubbles float out.

Bleed the master cylinder first, pump it up a few times and lossen the line at the master cylinder.

mityvac huh.never heard of that but i see were yall are going.i knew i had 2 do something like that.im gonna have 2 look into that.thanks

Bleed from the bottom. Air floats up in fluid, not down.
Get a big syringe from a veterinarian. Attach a clear piece of line.
Suck all the fluid out of the master cylinder.
Fill the syringe with brake fluid.
Clear the air from the syringe/tubing.
Place tubing on the caliper bleed valve.
Apply pressure to the syringe, crack valve open.
Fluid will force air out the master cylinder relief circuit.
I like this method better than MytyVac, and lots cheaper.

yep go from the bottom if you can get the equipment. if not mighty vac.(get a plastic one ) it will last longer.
