Serene green machine: apres Loring forensics

losing fuel pressure(fuel pump fuse blew, too small) at over 200mph is definitely bad juju.

Tore motor down last night, 3 pistons fukkered; everything else OK.
Called Bob Carpenter yesterday(Tues) while Brenda-Sue & I were driving thru Arkansas, he had a set of pistons waiting for me when we arrived at 3pm Wed at Casa entropy.
I :heart UPS next day!

Serene green TFA machine will next show its face at Mojave in Sept.

Pretty sure it's stock displacement.

Well, since it's in 1650 class I'll go 1397.

Osti,
my own damn fault on the fuse.
Chris (i bought his 1397), had a 20A in the fuse block for fuel pump, but I put a new harness on and didn't know enough to check the fuses against what he had in it. He had a 20A fuse for the bigger pump.

Scott,
YOU go stand in the corner with a pointed hat for not showing up at Loring.
Bike or not, you were missed.
Now go stand in the corner.
30 min time out for you.
(make that 60 min)
Karl

Great picture

Sorry to hear about the pistons, hope the bores are OK. Glad the head is OK, that's probably the most expensive thing on the bike (Except for Eliza, she's priceless).

Eliza IS priceless, prob be a daughter of mine one o' these days, but that won't stop me trying to get pix of her cleavage.
Notice how she puts her hair in the way of "good pix"?
She's smart, but i'm wiley, i'll catch her.

Well 3 pistons isnt bad. Now you have a spare.
Were the ring lands pinched? Or splatter in the rings and grooves?

area over the ring in valve pockets was gone, both intake & exh.
Interesting that the top of the piston was smooth as a baby's ass, no sugar texture at all.

woppi,
I still have my 12, Doug Meyer will run it at Texas in Oct, Brenda Sue will run it at Miami in Jan.

I couldn't get any more hp out of my 12 and no matter what i did with aeros, the 12 is too small for my TFA. so after the March Texas Mile, i built a 1635 Busa from the bare frame out.

It has LOTS more hp and is physically bigger, fits me like a glove.

I shouldn't have pinned it on the first pass.
Damn thing pulls so hard my wrist refused to ease up on the throttle.
motor quit at about 1.25mi marker, coasted thru thr traps at 156, S-F-P!

oh well, i'll run it at Mojave and see what she'll do.

Karl,
Your reservations paid off well, great first outing and even better desicion making after that first run.

Your Kawi green Suzi is like watching a blonde do her taxes, the most beautiful yet confused looking girl you could ever lay eyes on. And you can tell by looking at her and her pimp... that she's more then willing to put out!

Busa looks great, Karl! I love the GREEN!!!!

Excellent decision on the new direction. The 12 is a sweet ride, but there's no better platform for an N/A application in LSR than the Busa.

Condolences on the engine, I KNOW you'll have it back up and running strong for Mojave.

Karl, I have no clue about the full winter schedule for Miami. All I know about is the 10/10/10 event thus far, but I'm almost positive there will be at least 1-2 more events here this winter.

I'll be sure to keep all the forums posted as soon as I get any more info.

So Brenda will be your Miami jockey? Oh man, she should do well with either of your bikes.

She bringing the legendary ZX11 too?
