10.90 Super Street Bike Index...

The current slow index is Super Gas at 9.90...

Then Super Comp at 8.90,

Top Gas is set at 8.20,

what about a Super Street Bike 10.90 index ?

The NHRA does it for the cars,

Why don't the bikes do it ?

SEMDRA is starting a Super Street class for street bikes this year. Pro tree, no bar, street tire, 6.80 index on the 1/8th mile.

I think that the NMRA, PMRA & Prostar should do the same...

OK as a dummy drag racer, explain what the 10.90 index actually means?

Index classes use a fixed ET dial and start on a .400 pro tree. Both riders stage, the ambers all go on together, then the green 400ms later. Whoever gets to the stripe first without going under the index wins. So an ideal run in Super Street would be a .400 light and a 10.90 with a zero. The index classes are set up to lead you into a pro class like Pro Mod, but a lot of folks stay in the 'Sportsman' ranks forever. There are no engine or chassis limitations, so there's lots of diversity, especially in Top Gas.

Z,NMRA is a series not just the local track. Now you must come up for some races with us.The 1st 2 hours of Sat/Sun. are open lanes.Of course any probikes need to cool down etc between runs but streetbikes can get 20+ runs sumetimes before going into your 3 rounds of qualifying and if you get knocked out of eliminations on Sunday there is another lane set aside for time only runs between rounds.
ps.Did i mention we have the fastest Top FUEL Harleys around!#1 and #2 in the AHDRA national points live withing 1/2 hour from me.
Cost for SBS would be $80 and if you wanted to run street et also it would only be $40 more. You also need to purchase a membership at $100 for the year or $30 for 1 race. These are Canadian funny money prices!

Don't worry Cowboy I plan on coming up. The problem locally is I usually get about 2 and occasionally 3 runs max before I get to select my dial in etc. Using my experience the three runs turn into, first one is usually a wheelie fest, the second one is better and the third if I get it is a red light. So I end up pulling my dial out of a hat! But the truth is if I use a 10.87 dial I seem to be able to run 10.88's pretty consistantly by rolling it out of the hole and being casual. But the truth is I want to just go as fast as I can, so when I do that I break out and end the day. So the chance of getting a bunch of runs to get consistantly lower is definitely something I would like to do.

ZHooligan,
I always enter 2 classes with my ZX11,
Pro E/T & Super Gas, you have to pay more,
but you get a lot more passes...

With a street tire, you could also race Street E/T...
www.NMRAonline.com let's the Street E/T run unlimited qualifiers,
So you could get as many as 10 passes for $20.00 before eliminations.

Your bike would fit perfect in that class...
You won't need a license until you go quicker than 10.00 E/T.

Red,

I'm getting an NHRA license on New Years Day. I'm hoping to run somewhere in the 9's. Would I need to get a separate license to run in NMRA races?

NMRA races at NHRA tracks...

The National Motorcycle Racing Association is a spin off of the National Hot Rod Association, However, the NHRA sold it to Bernie Longjohn in the 80's...

So yes an NHRA license will be needed to go 9.99 second E/T's or better...

Street E/T can run with a street tire, slower than 10.00, (on a Sportsman Tree. )

Anything quicker, you will need to be licensed, & run in Pro E/T, ( Pro Tree. )

go to www.NMRAonline.com & post some forum questions there...

It would be nice to know if a Super Street Bike 10.90 index would fly...
