60" Factory Street Bike Class, www.NMRAonline.com

We are talking about a 60" no bar class at www.NMRAonline.com

Every bike in this class will be ALL MOTOR, Self Starter with Head & Tail light...

Ray said, Registration & Insurance is extra money for the road racer...
However, If you have a registered streetbike, perhaps you can get a weight break ?

Factory Arm, No Air Shifter, Stock Clutch Cover, Street Tire, 600 LB. minimum.

Change the Arm, + 50 LBS. Air Shifter, + 50 LBS. Clutch + 50 LBS. Slick + 50 LBS.

So you could have a 60", Air Shifter, Lock-up, on a Slick, at 800 LBS. minimum...

Then give the Registration waiving street rider a 50 pound break, 550 LBS. min.
Add an air shifter to that & he's right back to the 600 LBS. minimum. WELL ? ? ?
And if your bike is on a street tire, you can hot lap it into the Street E/T class.

Go figure out the combo on your bike, Mickey is already at 700 LBS. minimum,
Arm, Air Shifter, Clutch, & Registration would make that about right, HUH ? ? ?

If I want to run a slick, then I could with 50 pounds added to the 600 LBS. minimum.
However, I will not be allowed to hot lap it right back into the Street E/T class.

Cowboy, we don't have many street bikes in Street E/T,
however, I keep hearing how street racers like heads-up racing...

With this class, if you drop out the first round, you can go to Street E/T...
This way it will not take from the E/T class, just help to understand it.

Race, the Turbo, Nitrous shootout just brought out a couple ringers,
we would like to set it up so that more bikes will come out & race with us...
Nothing longer than 60" so that they don't scare the quick road race bikes.

If you could post your thoughts there, it would be greatly appreciated...

Thank you kindly,

Red, *<(:{)-

Are the weight minimums for bike + rider? Do members of Team Fat Ass get a head start if we're over 700 lbs with a stock bike with papers?

I believe that most times the minimum would include the rider,

Other wise you could put a skinny chick on the thing...

We want to be inclusive with this heads-up class...

We've already determined that we want an ALL MOTOR CLASS...
We also know that we want the weight minimum around 600 LBS.
The stock wheel base would be good, up to 60" (ZZR12) street tire,
and you'll get to hot lap it into Street E/T if you drop the 1st round.
Airshifter, Clutches & Tires have all been questionable...

How about these for rules. ( $60.00 entry fee. )

1) All Motor, naturally aspirated, No Turbo, No Nitrous...

2) Stock frame & arm, head & tail light, with stock looking bodywork.

In order to include everyone we should make weight adjustments...

1) If you ride your registered & insured bike to the track, (-50 LBS.)
You get a weight break, this would include bike & rider, no mods.(550 LBS.)

2) If you feel that you need an air shifter, add 50 LBS. to the minimum,
Your program would have to weigh in at 650 LBS. bike & rider, no other mods.

3) If your clutch can't fit inside the stock clutch cover, add 50 LBS.
Your program would have to weigh in at 650 LBS. bike & rider, no other mods.

4) If your bike is shorter than 60" & you want to stretch it, add 50 LBS.
Your program would have to weigh in at 650 LBS. bike & rider, no other mods.

5) If you have an 18" wheel & the shootout tire won't fit, slick, add 50 LBS.
Your program would have to weigh in at 650 LBS. bike & rider, no other mods.
and you will not get to hot lap it into Street E/T if you drop the 1st round.

6) If you want to try every option above, add the weight accordingly.
Airshifter, Clutch, Stretched with a Slick, comes in at 800 pounds total...

What do you think ?

This should include everyone & make the playing field level...

Ya,i'm a light weight and bike and rider are still 640lbs.But i guess if i was on a gsxr1000 i would have to add weight
I like the fact that you simplified the rules to 60" and 600lbs but i would just leave it at 60".Its hard to get a guy to add weight to his street bike to go to a race track.my 2 cents

60" Class is a blast !

Any one of you could have run 60" . . .

It's not like anyone was breaking any of the rules on the front page...

At that elevation it was Burkhart who put his bike in the nines,
everyone else was on a ten second bike, including the runner up !

I had the slowest bike out there, at just under eleven seconds...
We were all glad to see Augustine Herera out there on Deryl's GSXR,
And when he gets that bike dialed in, the Busa's ZX's & Gixxers better watch out !

We didn't see any R1's, or CBR's racing 60", those Bigger than Danno Busa's & that ZX9 of Erics sure could hold their own ! And Joe held up his end of the bargain, I got paid $10.00 for dropping out in the first round, when Eric's ZX9 put a whooppin' on me...
I think he gave $10.00 to everyone that went out in the first round...

Those of you that couldn't be there missed out on a great gathering of friends !

It's like that party that you go to, and it went ON until you wanted to go home...

Bernie, Bill & Deedee put on a great race for us, we wish you could all be there,
Each year is going to be better than the last, if we keep the same program...

Jay we can't thank you enough for supporting the west coast shootout program,
wait, we can thank Jay from APE by ordering any and all of your parts from him !
That APE camchain tensioner worked great on my ZX11, speaking of 11's . . .

Steve your ZX11 is awsome, you should make all of the races so every one can see it.

And the Best appearing bike was a stretched R1 that also put down everyone in E/T !

We really had a great time at Palmdale, we hope to see you at your local track !

It was good to see all of our friends at the track, both old & new friends...
