hey dude you are correct in reguards to the 6amp charge for the FBG Battery! you should charge it with a 6 amp charger, and use the small 1.5 amp for only keeping it charged fully. just found out, Im reading more information to help you out if you need.

The FBG was more than a yr old and I did NOT keep it charged. It ended up being weak, but I suspect it went south because of my poor maintenance and it had a couple periods of 2 mo just sitting, no use or battery tender. Mike now has the old one and is trying some Interstate magic on it to bring it back to life. I'll treat my new one better.

Hey man just got the first cycle off of that battery and it ran 13 Amp Hour and that is exactly what they are rated! so I am going to run a couple more cycles through on it and then I will send it back to you, Looks good from this side of the world.
The best battery to use would be an Interstate Battery of course!! that is a silly question, I just think some of you guys dont believe me?? Im telling you I have the High Compression 1361 and I have never had a single problem starting my bike? it is cool as shit that you guys are having problems and My 2 year old Interstate keeps Starting Away, No Problems!!
and Mikael, the High Compression pistons are just your standard 1270 pistons that are not machined, you do not need special pistons.

Oh and your battery was mfg, on the 257th day of 2001, so it was barely 1 year old and these batteries should be good for 2 years. so it should not have let you down?, dude go and buy a damn Interstate and tell them you want a Mad Mike Motorcycle Battery! that should start your monster!

Entropy, heehe,,, maybe..., Cowboy, the only thing your gaining from the FBG battery would be the instant Starting power, that these batteries have, they can supply huge amounts of current for very short times! so if your not using this battery as a starting battery for extreme loads, then you Don't Need it! it is a 13ah battery, let me know what size you need and I can spec out the correct Interstate Battery for you. cool. can it be bigger? or same size as the FBG? let me know and I'll give ya the hook up tommorow when I get back to the office!

MadMike, do you know if there is a dealer in Sweden for Interstate battery? What Part number do you have on your battery (model)?
Maybe I can buy it here in Sweden!?

Mikael, sorry but at this time they do not have any distributorships in Sweden, hopefully one day!, out side the US they have them in Canada and in Puerto Rico. Sorry! wish I could help you out! and I'm not sure if they could ship one, probably be very very expensive.
