Muzzy wet kit questions

Hi all,

I'm considering buying Karl's "muzzy wet kit" that he has for sale...I had some questions for him that he couldn't anwser so I'm throwing the questions out to you guys......here's a copy of the e-mail. Thanks in advance, Roy

Roy,
I only know a tiny bit about the Muzzy kit, and I have never run N2O.

I am 110% the wrong person to ask.
It would be cool if you post exactly yr question in the Dragbike section of Bikeland. There are some real experts on that kit and on N2O in general.

I run a highly built NA ZX12 in LandSpeedRacing, and it keeps me bust without adding the N2O

Regards
Karl

Subject: Muzzy wet kit

Hi Karl,

I saw your post on the dragbike forum regarding the Muzzy wet kit. A couple of questions…..What ends up inside the airbox ?? From what I can see, from the few not so good pics I’ve seen, is that everything is in the airbox. Both solenoids and the fuel pressure regulator etc. Can you confirm this for me. I’m alittle concerned that this might affect how the bike runs while not using the N2O. But then I can’t see Muzzy releasing a kit where that would be the case. Any thoughts ?? Also where does it get its fuel from?? Is it tapped off the fuel rail? and if that’s the case is a new one supplied or do you have to modify the original ??
What I’m trying to accomplish is being able to run supercomp (5.60) and or top gas (5.10) in the 1/8 mile in the heat of the southeast summer. The supercomp will be easy as my bike runs 5.50’s now in cool weather so I’ll only need a short burst either at the start line or the stripe to run the 5.60. Topgas will be another story, I will need to spray it most of the pass. The wet kit seems like it might be the way to go as I won’t have to mess with Maps/map switches etc. needed for the dry shots. Any comments you have would be appreciated.

Thanks, Roy Koch

In top gas your best bet would be to order a SCHNITZ PS2 N20 timer(top of the line) and run it start to finish and dial it up or down depending on conditions. Fuel is from a secondary fuel pump that goes nowhere near your fuel rail, except to get fuel from your tank(auxiliary tank if possible). IMO I think it`s the best N20 kit setup for the ZX12. In the 1/8 you don`t have time to be pushing any nitrous buttons in the run so on a timer is the best way to go.Launch on say 20% and progress to 100% to the finish line.
Good luck,
JJ

Yes I know, you have said that before

1. If you have that much back firing you need to check your tune or reduce your kill time.

2. You can always upgrade to stainless steel or steel braided lines

That is correct. That popping is the fuel loading inside the cylinder as the spark is cut. That popping can be elminated my cutting the fuel and well as the spark beween gears.

i run the DJQS. it cuts fuel. if you run dry, that means all fuel. no need to mess with cutting the solenoid since there is nothing to burn.

he didnt mean cutting the fuel solenoid. it wouldnt react fast enough anyway

Roy, Ive ran a wet system for a couple yrs, minimum amount 60 hp. I use an NLR 2 step/kill box (the old style) and it works fine just cutting ign for 63ms. R&D trans, carpenter valve springs. the best thing to invest in is an rpm window switch, set it a couple hunderd rpm below your shift point. ive short shifted and it was fine, but best to not be on the spray unless you kill ign and the injectors.

Looks like it could be a real pain to pull the motor with all that air box plumbing.
