TEXAS

The Texas Mile has proven to be one of the most fun events I've ever participated in. What a great group! I'm very lucky to be having so much fun with such an awesome bunch of speed freaks.
Last week's event was no different, better than ever. I did have an interesting moment (see my new Bridges column for details). There is some great competition developing and it really motivates everyone.
Brenda Sue! What a story. "Buck 86 Brenda" is as dedicated a racer as any you'll meet anywhere and is working very hard to improve at every meet. Really fun to watch and help her out. Great job Brenda! Let's hope her nickname changes up a digit or two every meet to come.
Karl, thanks for letting me ride such an awesome ZX-12. This is a perfect example of continued refinement through R&D. Karl never rests, always working for one more horsepower, and eventually they all add up. It's fast, now he needs to work a bit on the brakes, though. We made another story.
Thanks to everyone that makes this such a fun sport!

Awe Doug, I don't even know what to say except thanks for building me such a strong streetbike that still hauls ass. I only hope to be able to go as fast as it can, I am not there yet but getting closer thanks to all your help and support. And yes Texas is one great event and anyone who hasn't been there doesn't know what they are missing.

Doug,
It is a privilege and a pleasure that you find the time to come out and play with us.
Texas IS a great event; that damn wind just adds spice.

It would be good if they moved to a track with a bit longer shutdown, further inland away from the coast & its nearly ever present wind, but hell, we do just fine as is.

Brenda Sue is a complete animal on her bike, I LOVE watching her launch!
Karl

BTW,
VERY nice write up in Bridges on yr motocross-like adventure off the end of the track at Texas.

Doug, sounds like a hair raising moment.

Just curious, how much rear brake did you use when you realized the fronts weren't cutting it?
