Canadian Company that uses the Nika-Tech plating. They do some tricked out stuff and very good and precise when it comes down to tolerances !!! Can't Remember their name off the top of my head but just google "Nika-Tech plating" and it will pop up in the search.....

I was also under the impression that APE uses Millenium. I know for a fact Lees does as I went thru them to get dads block done instead of shipping it directly to Mill as it was cheaper that way. I believe that Fast Enterprises is the Canadian distributer for Mill.

I always use Millennium. They are somewhat close to me. About 1.5 hrs by car. I like the fact I can hand deliver my parts and pick them up. They do good work and turn around time is always pretty quick.

APE does use Millenium. However, you may save a few bucks to go with someone like APE vs. going direct with Millennium. I'm not sure.

I was corresponding through email with Pat at APE, and he said that APE offers no warranty whatsoever on their products, including their (trade secret, outsourced) plating services. Millennium, however, offers a limited lifetime warranty.

Back in 2002 or 2003, some of the Millennium-plated cylinders we used peeled badly and we had to have them redone, which Millennium was happy to do under warranty. APE says that I need to inspect the cylinders for defective workmanship before installation, and if I suspect a defect, they will "replace" the part after they inspect and verify the defect themselves. Pat then followed up with this:

"You should do what you feel most comfortable with. Our policies seem reasonable enough for our customers and have served us for the last 35 years or so..... We will not make an exception for you. "

I'm not looking for a policy that serves them well - I'm looking for a policy that serves me well.

Once again, APE's policies may serve to prevent them from closing a several-thousand-dollar sale, like when they lost my order for JE pistons and Carrillo rods and wouldn't allow me to will-call them directly from the manufacturers, despite the fact that I was paid in full, including expedited shipping. Yet again, this place is forcing me to cut them out of a perfectly good sale. Incredible!

I did the block exchange with APE for my 1287 kit. they werent that great to deal with. Ive emailed them a few questions on various things and some times they answer, some times they dont. a lot of times their answers lead to getting them to do machine work, when i have other sources that tell me its not required. do they really think i just ask them? i try to get as many sources as possible and then make an informed decision. they have some great products, and good deals on some parts.... but a few things could be better

from my eperience, they are good with off the shlef parts. fast shipping and good service. wouldn't trust them for advice though. one thing to consider is that they are in the buisness of selling parts, not building bikes. never had to deal with their machine work, since i'd rather go with the source, as i did with my tranny and R&D motorsports.

hey Tim,
as you know I have had a buncha blocks done at Millennium. They are always GREAT to deal with, never seen the plating peel.

The block I got back from them last week was mistakenly not honed to my custom spec, but by luck it turned out this will work even better than what I asked for.

Millennium is one of my favorite suppliers, up there with Competition CNC, Marine Crankshaft, Cometic, Harry's Machined Parts, Megacycle Cams, WPC...

Yeah thats it CVTech are some bad boys when it comes down to Boring, Replating & Honing.....you can specify what RA you want on the cross hatching, tolerance specs and their bores are straight, true and perfectly round !!! I didn't go with Millenium because I heard to many horror stories about them in the past years....2003-2005...They must have gotten their shit together because i hear alot of good news coming from that camp NOW and alot of people are going really FAST with their work NOW......
