New turbo kit, new questions
My bike is a 2006 zx14.
I am purchasing a Mr Turbo stage II turbo kit, and I am wondering how far I should extend my bike. Before I was going to throw on some 9" extensions and call it good (I believe that would sit about 65"), however, now that I'll be in the 230-270whp range, would I be better off at around 70" with a chromoly adams arm? I'm running a Pirelli slick, so I don't anticipate traction being a huge issue, but another 100whp is a lot to ask from a tire! My local track isn't known for the best prep, but it isn't as bad as others from what I've read.
Also, gearing...... I would assume with more power I could use the tall stock gearing 17/41. That would probably help alleviate wheelies, but I don't want to be going through a bunch of clutches.
Speaking of clutches, I just bought brocks spacers, but I doubt that will be enough. However, I've heard that running spacers AND springs is very hard to control at the launch with so much static pressure. Are the springs a little stiffer then the spacers? I would rather avoid the multistage lockup for now if I can to save some coin, so am I ok to just run spacers or springs by themselves at 5-7 psi?
Thanks a bunch!!!!

if your purpose is drag only, the longer it is the easier it will be to control with all that power, but it will get harder to get the tire to hook the longer you go, especially if your track isnt the greatest like mine. you will need a good shock to go with that much length. if you dont need a dot tire maybe try the Shinko slick if the Pirelli doesnt work out. but try it first. find out what other guys run for mph with that much hp and gear it similarly. you may end up changing it a couple times till you get it so you are just at the top of 6th going over the line. no idea on the clutch spring spacers, but a single stage lock up would let you keep the stock springs in there. from what i have seen the cycle logic is a mild one and the mtc is more suited to very high hp bikes.

Gilberjj, also how long to stretch your bike is really riders preference. The realstreet guys run at 63" with turbos. Smokin runs his bike really short and has very good 60ft times. The realstreet guys also run no lock up clutches but I don't know how often they replace them. Their bikes run 180mph with the stock clucth. Longer is easier to ride.

+1!!!!!! Think how hard that would be to release that clutch with control!

I think it would be easy because I don't think it would grab real hard with that much HP from the engine. Just my assumption though. I bet the go through clutches very often due to high HP slippage.
