Stupid questions. The 180 is 5mm thinner on each side than the normal 190, correct? Where are you guys finding the cheapest (relatively speaking) 190/50 Michelin Power One? I have Metzeler M3's on mine now. When I was going for the 9's at SWB, everytime I was really getting on it, the tire would blow up at the line. I thought it was the track going away. My only time out with it at 63", I had it at about 20psi. I was leaving easily to get a feel for it, but it was blowing up mid track. The track, it turns out, has been in horrible condition for everyone, but many have said the M3's just won't take the real power. Final dumbass question...I tend to get my bike inspected at a close by HardleyD. Will the Power One pass there?

The Power One is a DOT approved and stamped, street tire.

The 180-55 is 10mm (total) narrower than a 190-50. But the sidewall is 5mm taller than the 190-50. However, when mounted on a standard 14/Busa etc. wheel, the 180-55 stretches out, making for some good contact.

There was one company out of Ohio on ebay, selling a 190-50 Power One for $229 with free shipping. Not sure if its still available though. My buddy bought one and it was legit.

I saw that one. I also just saw $225 with free shipping off of Amazon. It comes from Motorcycle Superstore. My M3 has a lot of life left, and I certainly don't want to trade out the front tire, but I may just go ahead and pick up a rear tire.

I'd be willing to bet that the prices will drop slightly next year. Getting to be too much competition between the Power One, M/T Shootout, Metzeler DragTech, and coming in January the new Shinko Drag Radial.

The new Shinko and Metzeler are $179, so I would hope to see the Michelin and Mickey drop a few dollars to stay competitive.

Just bought one from Doug at SpencerCycle. The deal is $205 plus shipping or $224.99 to your door whichever is cheapest. (190/50/ZR17) Good guy to work with. I plan to do more business with him in the future.

Yep, rear Michelin Power One. Failed to mention that, didn't I. The Metzeler M3 that's on now is in for some brutalizing when the weather clears up a bit and I'm able to get back out.
