Well, I was just going by what it says on the website:

The Convertable Clutch can be used as a:

Single Stage Engine Driven Lockup
Multi Stage Engine Driven Lockup
Slider
Hand Clutch

It also looks like the billet basket is part of the assembly. If that is the case, it does offset some of the cost.

Shane

Shane, the basket is a work of art...Very nice peice and LIGHT as hell.....Alot of little 4mm allen head bolts....Gotta make sure to have a good Snap on, ect. ect. socket.....I messed up a few bolts because of a allen head socket that was a little rounded on the wrench part.....I got a new Matco socket now, lol.....

Thinking of getting 1 of these. Would this be easy to install. Is there a constant tuning involved? Does the cost of $1500 cover everything needed? Or do you still gotta buy cover etc?

You need to get the 1.5" spacer, $90 from MTC and maybe a couple of gaskets......Of corse there will be some tuning/adjusting, but once figured out you should be set unless you want to change or go to a slippery track......Plus ya gotta send him your basket and inner hub....Or buy one from someone like I did....
Tim sends excellant instuctions on install....And plenty of help here if you have questions.....Plus Tim can answer any and all questions without hestitation.....

Tim is making a spacer now. Constant tuning, NO. everything you need is in the kit.

I was on a slippery track, and that was the same clutch set up, that I used at PMRA, on a HOOKING track.

I just had a different map in it. I had tried other things, and had just went back to my (personal for my bike) baseline. More testing this sun.

I still have tuning to do in the reaction time dept, but, this is the list of reaction times on the pro tree this has had in the last two outings, PMRA and while testing here sat. I have not been working on that aspect quite that hard, and it almost bit me at PMRA, but, it was still good enough that I think I had the tree in every round. Other than the .399 in qualifiying.

Okay, went out and made some changes today, trying to stay stepping in the right direction.

Bike responded much better than I had thought. I would not have thought I could have done this, at 175lbs suited, and a 495lb bike.

1.40
3.72
5.72 at 122

I think that would have been dang close to a 9.00 or better?

Nothing further, but I hope to make a couple passes Sat morning, before things crank up, and I get real busy with my daughter's Jr. this weekend.

Some of you may get to see it at Tulsa next weekend. If you saw it at PMRA and thought it was smooth, you should see it now.

Gotta change the oil too.......ugh.

Not much front half.

I'm thinking not quite an 8; it has the 1/8th ET for it, but not sure about the mph? Close, that's for sure.

What does the bike run like on the back half?

7.47 1000 ft on that pass, on our true 1000 ft track.

I do not think it would have been there. I have not pushed how hard I can bounce it out of the hole yet........

I do not think looking at some old slips that 9.00 is there....,

I have not pushed the 60 ft, because I did not have time to push both ends of the tuning.

We will see.

A 7.47 should get you in the 8's. I went 9.00-9.02 on 7.51-53 1000 ft's.

Yeah Shane, but you are on a 14.

I doubt my bike runs the back half as hard as yours. I am still bone stock cams, pistons, etc. Not even a thin head gasket.

I would love to build a nasty little 1199cc motor for super comp. Big comp, mild cams, mild head.......

Notice the pics in zxboy's photos of his SEMDRA race Shane......., look at the angle of his forks, from the chassis angle his bike has, from that low strut set up........

Think of the wheelbase difference that makes.

I'm out of arm at this point, Nox. But there is still room for me to improve my chassis, I just have to hold it to about 65". I'm really looking forward to this winter.

Yea, I know, I was just showing the illustration.

I wish I had a project on mine this winter. Mine will be all maintenence.

I hope to have a motor build going at the end of 2010. I want to run super comp, at about 70 or 72 inches, with this chassis, and a slick. And have plenty of motor to just baby it down the track.

Well, my main thing this winter is going to be details and durability. Maybe an r&d trans, finer chassis setup, tuning, shaving a little more weight...small changes. I think my basic setup is pretty solid. I also have the dry kit here to install...and I'd like heavier valve springs (there is a can of worms!). I doubt I will get it all done by Spring.

Considering the rough state of tune, and my weight, it has done pretty well. I may get it out to the track one more time this season and see if I can squeak that 8 with the good air.

Good luck.

I will post results after this weekend. It is supposed to be sunny sat, high of 70, so I should be able to make a couple test passes before Maddie gets into elims, and I get caught up in the Jr.

Forgive me if this sounds dumb, but do you mean pressurizing the cylinder so that the valves won't drop in?

The big can of worms when you remove the head is that you don't want to put it back without cams or porting...right?

I just dropped my 12 off at the Dyno for the first time since owning my bike....Never had it Dyno tuned or custom mapped.....Just a couple of down loaded maps.....I hope he finds some hp somewhere.....9.6`s at 142 aint gonna get it....I`m 200 lbs. suited and I`ve seen others go alot faster with a stock motor....
Now that it`s not my daily driver I can do a little more than if I had to ride it to get around....
