19 tooth front sprocket group buy?
Trying to gauge interest if anyone is looking to buy one. One 12 guy already wants one, I figure if anyone else was interested let me know and you can send payment in one week. $30 shipped and it will take a good month or so from when the order is placed until they ship because they will be put in production.
Post up if interested, looking to receive all payments via paypal no later than 10/2/09. Thanks.

Michael,
It depends on where the motor is making peak power.
Doug Meyer got 222mph out of 18/44 gears @ 12,340rpm on my heap at Loring.
With my set up, hp is still climbing at that rpm.
I used a 19 when it was peaking at 10,500rpm., but gave away my 19 to a needful guy
Just replenishing "stock"

19/46 gearing? It'll be tough on a stock displacement....unless you got a bottle!

KZ, its up to you. I never thought I'd use the 19 tooth but i ripped that sucker outta the package at Loring ... if the conditions are similar you should DEFINATELY look into one. Look at the speeds Entropy, myself and Y2K went. A piston kit with some spray would be right in the mix with us at over 220 mph (again, given the similar conditions)....food for thought, you have 24 hours to decide. Shipping to Canada would be I think $12.95 or something in those SMALL international flat rate boxes the size of VHS tapes....unless flat rate envelope is cheaper....might be a toss-up for Canada but I think the former is cheaper.

18/40 @ 11600 w/78.5" circumference tire (using 3.5% slip) = 227mph +/-
however, if yr hp peak is less than 11600...
I'm with Ali, cheap insurance.

KZ, with just about any tire, running 18/40 will be geared for WELL OVER 200 mph....
If its your first land speed race ever you can count on some sprocket changes until you get an idea of what you'll actually be running.
No one can give you an exact speed because there are so many variables. Brand tire, compound, size, pressure, bike weight, rider weight, clutch set-up, etc.
More than likely you'll be doing boring license passes on motor. Then you'll go WOT through all the gears on motor. Based on what you run then, you can then get an idea of what to run for spray....but again....too many variables.
With the 18 on there, you're stuck only going lower and lower and lower in the back. I run on a stock length chain and don't like re-riveting it for a set-up too short or too long. Get the right sprockets and you can fine tune your gearing for what YOU run on YOUR bike. We could have almost identially set-up bikes but it doesn't mean we'd both run the exact same gearing. The 19 tooth just opens up the possibilities on the top end instead of finding smaller and smaller sprockets. My smallest rear sprocket is a 44 so I'd have been SOL if I didn't have the 19 at Loring.
But its up to you....no worries......just cuz ALL the fast guys are getting 19s doesn't mean you have to.....its all good......
(just messing with you man)
