No 8's for me today. The heat index was 98-103 degrees for most of the day. DA was about 2700-2800 for most of the day. . I found myself with too little gear for the situation, at +4 overall. Coming off the clutch with the throttle pinned simply resulted in weak acceleration (DA of around 2400 for this pass):
On the plus side, I did run up to 152 mph in the heat. Also, some very consistent back-to-back passes. I have a few small changes to make, and I'll be looking for even an 85 degree day to make a run at the 8's.
I really gave it my all today, but it just wasn't in the cards!

I love seeing your systematic approach; keep it up and you WILL succeed.
I make small gains, but I try to be consistent, and that is my biggest focus. That is very important to me. I know that I am riding the bike consistently better, but I have a long way yet to go. I was just laughing yesterday about how I am now unhappy with 5.9's in the 1/8th mile, and how the high 1.4 60 foots weren't up to standard. It's all a matter of perspective.

1.47 should be in the 5.8s..., if you are turning that mph, sounds like you are boggin it after the 60......

It ran 5.86-5.88 on the 1.47 (don't have the slips in front of me). It is bogging down, and I don't want to drag the clutch...it definitely needs some more gear under these conditions. I knew it was borderline before, but with the worse air it just wouldn't pick up.

Here's the numbers:
The R/T is crazy on the rightmost pass...I don't recall falling asleep? Maybe a timing glitch or something...but I can't remember sleeping that deeply in the last, say, two years?

I don't think I'm quite there yet. Right now my yardstick is about .04. If I am off by any more than that from run to run, I usually have had a pretty significant error. Or a bad experiment with technique.

Yes. I believe it is giving me about .10 in ET, and maybe 3 mph. That's just a guess, based on what I have run with pump on same day testing. I would have happily traded the MR9 for 87 and a cool day...

Two more passes, made after lunch when it was really heating up. These passes were back-to-back:
I came off the clutch too quickly here, and it cost me a little drive:
I suggest that everyone get as many videos of their runs as possible. What we think we are doing, and what is actually happening, are often different. Video is a great tool for improvement.

One more pass, illustrating the importance of getting low. Small wheelie costs me drive, due to poor body positioning (sitting too high):
I need to really focus on body positioning for the rest of the season.

Sounds pretty smooth, as far as street et racing goes, 75 percent of the time, those lights will win rounds, as consistent as you are running..........
When I slow my set up down, and run the .500 sportsman tree, I set the chassis up for around a .520 light....., but like I said, in street et racing, mid .5s will win rounds most of the time...........
Looks good, there is a line between agressive fast and violent, and very quick, smooth and repeatable............
Unless running heads up, the latter is the better............
Carry on.

Just need to get your 330 and 1/8 mile times down some more. Sounds like your riding the clutch too long in your vids.

Like I said, it needs a little more gear. It bogs coming off the clutch (you can also hear that in the vids). It was only +4 overall, with a tall tire, on a very hot and humid day...and I also moved the power upstairs with some short stacks...not ideal for launching the bike.
