Do you have to deglaze an good used block when installing new piston & rings and if so how?

ok found out you have to put the x pattern back into the block when new rings go in. But are 3 heat cycles go enought to break in the new rings.

thanks, its all NOS (thats KING) the motor should been put togeather and installed today. Just in time for my shoulder surgery, last race of the season is Dec 7th. I hope my right arm can turn the throtal by then.

A couple good pain killers will work, percocete is a wonderful painkiller. Heat cycles work but you have to let the bike warm up till the fan comes on then let it cool back to room temp at least 4 hours if you can get a couple more cycles in then that is even better.

change your oil after the heat cycles and check it for anything metalic it should NOT be magnetic. Then you are good to go yeah baby back into the 8s. Make sure you clean that advancer good and locktite those set screws.

I am going to spot weld the advancer in place this time! Do you think 76 total NOS is about a 100 shot?

It works out about 85 hp make sure you check plugs after a pass.

Shoulder is still sore they have rescheduled the surgery for Nov. figures I have riders for both bikes but that's ok I want to see some good numbes anyway.
