No they are not. The turbo tank is special. Frame is thicker and the fuel pressure return on the throttle side

Bike layed for a few years w/fuel in the tank...had the tank coated but I am not comfortable with it,was hoping to find a clean intact or NOS tank, the bike is really clean so to me its worth a new tank. This bike is stock save for a seat and an aftermarket exhaust. What do you have, let me know. Thanks for replyin

New tank will set you back at least $1000 if you can even find one.
I was thinking of contacting http://www.eti-fuelcel.com/
to make a mold since there are alot of bikes out there in need of a replacement tank!

Take all of the sensing units and petcocks out and seal off all of the openings. Pour in some pool acid (muriatic acid) and slosh it around. Repeat till clean. Then rinse with water and blow out with a shop vac and leave it in the sun to dry out. You'll be amazed.
CAUTION: nasty vapors will occur!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've done a bunch of tanks like this and never have had a problem with the paint or anything. I would wax the shit out of them before doing this as an added layer of protection. You might want to test the paint in an inconspicuous spot. There were a couple that were so rusted that after I treated them they had some pin holes. In those cases, they were screwed anyway.
Good luck,
Tom
