Wego III install

Okay guys..

Installing a Wego III on 2000 ZX 12

I'm been getting different answers concerning this...but I'm trying to get the best RPM signal for datalogging..

Tach wire or coils wire (then which one), I also heard you can use the injectors for a signal also.

Could someone help me out,? and let me know which one is the best...

Thanks

Herb

relax i will try to look at my bike tomorrow after work. i honestly can not remember. keep reminding me to look i have a lot on my plate this week before maxton.
i like my wego3. i have my extra channel on the map sensor. any coil wire will do i think. a friend has the logger everyone else has and the dam thing has a lot of hidden costs to me plus it is huge. yes it is expandable but for me 3 things is enough for me.
i will say what ever i say it is on you may want to try something different.i get rpm spikes on my chart. i got mine mounted in front to the left of the guages so i can see the afr all the time.o2 inside of footpeg between swingarm and peg mount.

I agree 2000redrocket, all I need to log is the throttle position, rpm, and air/fuel for my particular application.

Okay, so if I use the coils or injectors I would use one of the following wires correct
(for a 2000 ZX 12)see below:

USING THE INJECTORS

BL/R (#4)
BL/G (#3)
BL/BK (#2)
BL/Y (#1)

USING THE COILS

BK (#1)
BK/G (#2)
BK/R (#3)
BK/O (#4)

KZscott have you had any issues with pulling the signal from one of the injectors? have you had any RPM spikes as 2000redrocket has mentioned above?

Thanks for help

Herb

i pull rpm off injector #1 for DL-32 and have no spikes except sometimes on fast decel when the duty cycle gets real low, then i lose the signal now & then

i actually think ent that trail throttle from high rpms actually shuts the injectors off for a while till rpms get down some. my gpz it was very noticable. and i think i can feel it on the 12 also.

Okay Guys,

I will try one of the injectors...I have one more question...I also bought the wego tach adapter ( I guess its suppose to help with signal noise), should I hook that up to the injector signal?

Thanks guys

i my self would try a coil. i do not see the loss of signel on high rpm decell like ent so i am almost sure i am on the tach signel going to the dash.and i got noise. i think it is your turn to try something different. i spent my time tonight running around to friends listening to reasons why they could not tig my guard. i am going middle of week to get it done. i will look at it tomorrow to see exactly which wire i am on. but i think i am on the tach signel being new to this i would of hooked the rpm input up to the tach.

cool. all you have to do is keep changong the number till it has the same idle rpms. i am not sure if there is a difference on the tach output to coil.

herb my bike started acting dumb when starting going real lean but after riding it got ok. driving home i was wondering if i needed to call mike to get me. it was leaning out while riding. i am thinking it is the map sensor. i am watching the map for density apf adjustments . i am going to change it and not hook up to it anymore and see if it goes away.

i changed it and have it disconnected from wego and same lean hot start up. i rode it for 1 hour and it ran great. was something like 65F out side and it was ripping. bet 194mph at maxton with that air.
maybe i should think about the tps. though it does not really use it at steady normal cruising. when you unplug it the fi light comes on and it shuts off. it will then start up and run with it unplugged. funny thing is the idle surge is gone mostly that way. you blip the throttle and it will hesitate some. i do not know if it is rideable with the tps disconnected.
so with out going to maple grove again and seeing if it acts up again. it may be fixed.
