We stayed in Orlando. Big Red is running great these days,James has been
working on her alittle here alittle there...
She went 9.43@148.50 and the 12 ran 9.23@153.The 12
should be closer to the 8's but Orlando sucks!

Dean how did you do?

Holy smokes! 148.5 on a ZX9??? James has been doing a LOT of work to that thing. That's awesome power. 153 isn't exactly slow either - is the 12 a stroker, or just pistons?

I ran my best ET/MPH ever - check a few posts up. I'm psyched to try again this Sat at Moroso - going to see family down there.

Got the EFIR box today..itll go on tonight.

I got instructions with mine..and they seem pretty straightforward. Device comes prewired and gives you a nice clean set of wires to hook up to your various power sources

Prewired Crank trigger splice/connectors
Red to Key on 12v
Black to ground
yellow to solenoid activation

Krexxen I dunno what you meant by "The two wires going to the nitrous solenoid are always hot until horn is mashed and one grounds"

From what I can see..only one wire goes to the nitrous solenoid and its not hot until the noid fires.

Ill post some pics during the install tonight...but it doesnt seem that hard.

There somthing wrong with 12 that is holding the mph @ 153.
Everyone who has rode it still goes 153 even with a 140 pound
awesome rider on it. Scotty will be getting parts in Monday to
see if he can fix it. The 12 went 151mph stock, there something
definitely wrong with it. We'll see Wedneday night at the track.
- is the 12 a stroker, or just pistons? Dean I could not tell
you that because I don't know.
It lookes like we might skip biketoberfest and go to GA for
the last race, Sounds good to me.
And I will not be riding Big Red I'll be on the 12. Fun-Fun
The 12 is just so much to handle...
We just don't know eachother as well as Big red and I

Ok wtf...so Im going to install this sumbitch tonight and Im searchin around for the crankshaft trigger connectors and I find them BURIED in that tiny ass space above the clutch cover. I cant even get my fingers in there so I resort to some creative "needle nose" plier work to detach the connectors. To my dismay...the ones on the EFIR box are DIFFERENT!! Now in the instructions it says you "May" want to replace the existing connectors with the ones provided (and they did give some) but WTF???? why on earth would they give you connectors they KNOW wont work? what kinda shit is that? Not to mention there is no fucking way I can get my hands in there to cut the stock wire...and hook up this new connector..that just aint happenin.

Is there perhaps ANOTHER crankshaft trigger connector junction somewhere easier to locate?

Seriously, ask Ryan Schnitz over on psychobike.com he hosts the 12R forum there and should be able to respond within a reasonable period of time or email him privately. Let us know what you find out.

ok...ive decided to fuck replacing these connectors and im just going to splice the wires.

A simple wire splice should not require this much effort replacing connectors and these little gay ass terminals.

and on that note...halftime is over...FUCK MIAMI!!!

They replied...Dennis said that the wire is held on by a bracket (that I also couldnt get to) and mentioned that it was "Somewhat difficult" to remove.

So anyway...after much cursing and "ghetto rigging" the device works...I had to use a relay since the solenoid is triggerd by a ground and not a hot wire

Anywhoo Got the EFIR box hooked up...and upped the jet to a #40.

Put the Muzzy advancer back on set at +2.5 and had the retard box set at -5.0

Oh myyyyyyyy....power is so addicting....bike pulls "quite well" to put it mildly.

Easily pulls 6th gear with the 18/44 gearing I could not pull at maxton above 10k rpm

Man....now its time for the wideband 02 sensor setup to do some tuning...then for the 45 jet

Ohyea...rode steves 02 ZX12...and MAN that steering is VERY light under accelleration....I had a nice lil "mini tankslapper" while we were racing once. Thats just nuts...a dampener is pretty much required on an 02 :/

So the unit will work? On Schnitz's website I only see the unit listed for the busa. Is that the unit or do I need to talk to someone to get one for the 12? Or am I just looking in the wrong place? This seems like the right and or simplist piece of equipment other then changing to a Yosh box.

Yea..they sell it....just not listed on the site.

its the EFIR12 (vs the EFIR13 for the bus)...same price...same diagram.

instructions leave a bit to be desired...but it seems to work quite well.

For the price of the EFIR, I think I might should've gone with the Yosh box since you also get the benefit of changing fuel. Sounds sho nuff handy for the occasional nitrous user like myself. Oh yeah, I picked up roughly 5mph at the track the other night with the juice. Pulled a really nice 4th gear power wheelie. I like it.

Thanks for the info. I am wrestling with going with a Yosh box or this thing. I am leaning toward the Yosh because of the 4 failed power commanders I have experienced on the 12, plus 2 on the RC51 plus 1 on the GSXR 1000R. I just have to convince myself not to go postal if the yosh box fails!!

Egads YCIS... you gotta get that thing on the track BTW - do you think that taking out 2.5 deg is enough with the bigger jet? I take out 12 degrees with race gas, with 24N/22G pills. You might wanna keep an eye on your plugs for detonation.

weeeeelll...its supposed to be 1-2 degrees for every 50hp. It was running stock timing on a 50 shot with zero signs of detonation (plugs). With the 40 jet id imagine its somewhere in the 75shot range...and 2.5 should be good for now.

If I go up any higher in the jets Ill take out another 2.5 (for -5 total on spray)

I still think im flooding the motor with fuel at WOT...and still running 93 octane

Dude, there ain't much harm in taking out a few more degrees of timing - it's better to be a bit fat than a bit lean. Fuel pressure & fuel quality fluctuates, bottle pressure rises, PC3Rs fail I guess, etc etc. If you plugs start looking too rich, you can always put it back.

Im running N.O.S jets.

The #34 pill on my bike made roughly 50hp on the dyno.

Perhaps we forgot to factor in the "silver" factor
