Doug Meyer, How quick was the ZRX Turbo?
I remember seeing it in either 2003 or 2004 and I remember you or someone always draining the turbo and warming it up to get rid of the smoke. I thought that this bike was pretty Quick and ran on the Low 8's and High 7's. Is my memory still working OK? Didn't Schnitz ride it?

Vincent, Rickey Gadson rode it in SBS until the ZX12 was built. Ryan Schnitz rode it for just one race I think, to run as a blocker against Kent Stotz at the World Finals. If I recall correctly, he also went the quickest on it, to a 7.65.

Thanks Dean! I was at the World Finals in 2003 when that happened!
Teddy, you know why I asked this because of the statements on the ZRXOA Board that NO ZRX could get into the 7's! So make Nice Nice and let the people know that a ZRX Turbo can really get into the 7's!

Anything can be done with enough $$ and skill. lol I thought that bike only just broke into the 7's. The current Super Street bikes are only now being able to run 7.6's to 7.8's.

I remember when Ryan had to run RG at that race. Ryan just sat for like 1 or 2 seconds after the green light. Pretty obvious that he could have beaten Rickey but it was not meant to be.
I've been to a ton of races over the years and to me, Ryan is the best out there.

Yes, Ryan is the man. and also the owner's of the ZRX is right here in Houston, Texas. Gilbert Coronado went 7's on it in 2008. Highlands Kawaski is the owner of that motorcycle. Muzzy sold it to them !!!

All correct. That was a pretty complicated piece. Took a lot of care, definitely kept my wrenches warmed up. I'm thinking there was a 7.5** in there somewhere.

Thanks Dr. Doug, All I still remember was all of the Smoke and oil coming out of the Exhaust and you using a Rag to deal with it! Then it would clean up and run great!

It was early in the development cycle. We were using check valves, which sometimes leaked, along with a dry sump system which was evolving. The 12 had (has) a nice electric scavenge pump with a check valve.
