quick engine building question

I cant remember what i did last yr....
when you check CR, do you have to take the block off again and clean the grease out of the rings, or will wiping most of it out be ok?
im finally getting some work done on dads motor
(btw the Honda CRF 450 shims fit great and valve clearances are set to 8 and 11 thou )

my guesstimate on cr is 13:1. should find out tonight

You can just move the piston to the bottom of the stroke and wipe the grease off the cylinder walls.

Glad to hear about the shims working out.
