Which gearing for 170+mph
1/4 MILE..I know,sounds like I'm hoping for a lot right?.....F..K yea!!Kinda in the neigborhood of twin 34's of dry nos(SLAPPED ON NOW),and it's 66",should I run my current 17 tooth alone,or can I slap a 48 on the rear??I can't imagine launching the bike hard enough w/the front dropped one tooth,and I don't want to be shifting the whole run,King,what gearing did you have when you went 171mph??What GEAR were you in??ANYONE??

17/48 maxxed out around 175mph at redline in 6th

I have 17/51 and almost hit rev limiter in sixth the bike was uncontrollable I had to go less nitrous to keep it consistant. 8.80-8.85 @ 161 now with 6 inche over. I'm looking at 60 inch wheelbase as we speak might have new sponsor to take care of it, hopefully it all works out.
Every tooth down in the rear is about 3 mph less, on the 01 and up bikes without the muzzy box it may change a little.

I'll keep the 17 on amd rear stock-I'm gonna go mid 8's w/my stretch and kings kit.

Yeah baby, Dave Gibiati (cowboy) went 8.95 with the single stage kit and 6 inch over arm check it out.

I went 8.76 and it is driving him crazy but he is soooooo close. I'm having my shoulder operation so Dave may be my driver for the Florida finals.

I'm 200 lbs, in sixth about one second. Kevin went 9.10 @ 160 mph in the spring and missed three gears foot shifting, got to get the air shifter back on loosing time.

Sixth for a second......hmm,3mph pr/tooth,so if I went up two in the back,I would be near the top of sixth between 170-175mph(w/good tire pressure).That's a lot of gears to use to run the 1/4,guess I will try both set ups.Thanks King.

I run 28 psi at a good track with no slipping on the dyno 17/51 topped out at 173mph. I think I might get a 50 tooth to try out. Hope that helps let me know.
