Installed the clutch "mods" tonight

Since installing a brand new clutch (set of ten 2.0 steels and 11 fibers) last weekend and riding to work and back all week I figured I would take the advice posted on other threads here, plus I wanted to see what my oil soaked fibers looked like after a couple hundred street miles...

Well, as you can see from this pic, the entire clutch pack was bone dry. I soaked these in oil for several hours before installing and as you can see just doing the Muzzys modified inner hub isn't taking care of the problem.

So I took this piece out

and modified it similar to what was posted earlier this week:

I didn't take off that much material. Just buzzed it a bit on the grinder wheel and made sure it was smooth enough to spin freely when installed shown (half way out) here:

I re-oiled the plates and installed them with a EXTRA steel about half-way thru the pack. Then I took it for a spin around town and noticed nothing different in lever pull only that I now have significantly more adjustability in the screw on the clutch cover, it's about 50% now very similar to stock vs. 30% from topped out with just the muzzys kit so you can tell the stack height is much closer to normal.

Tomorrow (today) Friday I have a lane rented out for the day at MIR and there is a superbike showdown both Sat & Sun so it's a 3-day race weekend for me. I will tear it down Sunday night and let you guys know if the oil mod yielded any positive results.

Nice pics man.

Since you've got the "before" pics, it's gonna be awesome to see an "after" picture sometime to see just how much that little grinding helped out.

For comparison, the next time I have my cover off, I'll take a pic of my little puller rod thing too.
