A sticker would look great with the rest of my collection
I would also like to see Heath ( nox) put a hi resolution post of his avatar.

next to my 7, the 12 is one of THE sexiest bikes EVAH!
so awesome.
oh, scott.. you can get plates of already ready already CF in blue and other fab flavors off ebay for like $11. or something like that.. not REAL big, but a coulple pieces should work. i actually have cheated for all my CF stuff.. i have a CF hood from some douchebag honda ricer kid. i cut out all my stuff from that. the CF kleen air blockoffs i have, lots of little parts, ect all come from that thing.not moldable and you're stuck primarily with flat pieces, but a 3" pneumatic wheel zips thru it like a hot knife, and a nice half-round bastard file makes nice contours where needed.
some race shops that do fiberglass (another option..) might have some extra cf laying around from a big job. theres a custom glass shop by my shop that doesn't even advertise they CAN do cf!! go figure!
if i had some, i'd gladly hook ya up. i can always keep an ear out for a tig rig for you. i'm on a few other bike forums and a welding forum, and on THAT one, ppl are always trading and selling equipment.
one question.. on Nox's bike.. whys he only running one front rotor? i'd think he'd want uber braking power via dos rotors.....

Dual front rotors slow you down not trying to be a smart ass here lol. its extra weight. if he had a braking issue im sure he would run 2. I run 2, but theres a big diff in slowing down from 161 and 149 (nitrous vs NA). his local track is also 1000 feet vs 1320 and i think he pulls high 130s ?
Ive worked with fiberglass a bit(made my undertail), but Im not sure how well a fiber or CF tank would work without the bladder you mentioned, or some sort of coating. aluminum just seems easier and cheaper, and really isnt that heavy. weld some Earls fittings on it and the cover i posted above and its done. no worries about leaks
Whats a used tig go for? just something entry level that will work on small bike stuff

i see what you did there.
ya.. i guess parasitic losses would be greater than need be with 2 rotors..
used tig used tig.. Hmm..
i think some places offer new ones for less than 1000, and a good, name brand and decent sized one can probably be had for 600 and up..
i'm kinda compiling a mental list of all the el cheapo tig rigs that could be had from places like norther tool or harbor frieght (i can't even really remember if they DO have tig.. mig-yes)
i honestly am figuring on spending a grand on a good one i can trust and know will do aluminum. the hi-freq is GREAT for that.. that way, theres no scratch-start and no chance of tungsten contamination. Miller has the freq control to the point to where it'll clean the aluminum as you weld. very nice. got to play with a new welder in ocean city at a big car show.. they were set up there.. laid dimes on 6061 like it was nothing. at 120Hz as well!! sounded like a model plane flying!! haha
and ya.. i'd be concerned with the CF tank's ability to resist the fuel. i don't think it is caustic in nature, but the reactivity is something that tends to break down even the heartiest compounds over time. i know OPP racing makes CF gas tanks, but am unsure what the do to seal them.
thats a cool idea on your dual-fuel feed. thats something i've never heard of before.. very very badass..

I might see about going half on a tig with the old man this summer. we both want one.
A buddy of mine had a dual fuel setup on his camaro. he just sold it this yr. it was a 383 stroker that made 400hp NA, and he ran as much as a 500 shot in his fogger setup. it was a tough motor. adjust the valves and change the oil once a yr. it had been running for 10yrs without a rebuild and is still going. he had a plate and the fogger system, the car left on the plate and a timer turned that off and the fogger system on once he got going. there was a small tank under the hood for C-16 for the fogger system, I think he used pump gas in the big tank. maybe mixed 50 50 with C-12 when he ran the 500 shot. he normally ran 300 in the foggers system

thats a great pic of Heath...Its gotta be a rush leaving like that
I cant tell you how many expensive replacements have been avoided with a tig repair
of course it requires a fairly large initial investment....but the possibilities are
almost infinite

Scott have you tried a lawnmower tank.
It's bigger than a chainsaw and already has a vented cap.
something like this

hmmm beer can...would that put me in the fuel class?
have one of those lawnmower tanks in the garage. its big enough, but a very awkward shape to try and cram in the tail. i allmost used it last yr. I really want an aluminum tank(something tells me a plastic tank wont pass tech at a few places). and if i design it, i can kinda mold it to fit the modified tail/undertail. polished checker plate would look really good when i fill it up too
