Ultra 250X parts
Ultra 250X is a supercharged engine based on the ZX12R engine. Same 83mm bore, but stroked to 1500cc. The cylinder head and valve train appear to be very similar to the 12's
I am using 250X exhaust valves for my engine build.
Has anyone else tried 250X parts?

be nice if the crank would fit... but since nobody has done it, it must be a big challenge. imagine that crank with an 87mm bore....
how do the valves/head compare? much diff?

Crank drives a jet pump on the alternator side, no provisions for driving a clutch on the other end
Main Journals are 41mm, compared to 37mm in the 12R.
You can compare microfiche at cheapcycleparts.com (RonAyers doesnt show many PWCs)

The STX-15X is also similar but not supercharged. Many of the part numbers for the head/valvetrain are the same for both crafts and the bike.
I am most interested in the parts that changed for the 250X. Kawasaki engineers made some changes so the engine would handle 250hp. I intend to make similar upgrades to my 12.

250X exhaust valves are Inconel. I measured one, it was dimensionally identical to my stock 12 valves.

When the supercharged boat engine first came out we looked pretty carefully at it and if it could be used in any way.
Basically, no.
If you were building a top fuel bike with no transmission, the cases could be a bonus, but pretty much everything else is boat specific. You can already buy any parts you want to improve the ZX-12 engine to any level you wish, much easier than trying to "adapt" parts that are clearly not designed for that use.
Inconel exhaust valves were probably chosen because of the sustained high valve temps you get in a boat (wide open for long periods of time). Very common in diesels and turbocharged aircraft engines as well.

Buiding a blower bike would be fun, and riding it would be a blast! But the frame/airbox is in the way!
