oil light on
I tore the bike down this year because of this and replaced the bearings.Friday, I started the bike up for the first time and the oil light stayed on for about 5 sec and then went off.Every time I start the bike it will do this unless I crack the filter. It just seems to loose it's prime when shut off.Once the light is off, I'll run about 5psi on the gauge at idle. What could cause it to loose suction?

Maybe check the pickup to make sure its on right. Check the pickup screen. Check the oil pressure sensor maybe? I can see it doing that after an oil change, but it usually primes right up and doesn't do it again. Wish I could help more.

I teed off where the oil pressure sensor goes into the engine so I could put a pressure gauge on.I know its not the gauge as it was doing this prior.

are you sure the pickup is seated well, that there is no shit on the screen?
Once the good pickup flow is established, the lite should go out instantly upon startup.
If I were you, I'd put a guage on it, and NEVER idle less than 1500 on a stroker.
Just MO.

I put a gauge on it and get 5 psi at idle once it regains suction.I just don't like the fact that I have to keep waiting every time for the light to go out.I cleaned the screen twice,I wonder if the rubber boot that goes around the pick up is getting worn from rebuilds.

I'm thinking it has to be a small leak in the system.Whether it is those small oil tubes or the counter balancer o-ring.the oil pick up slides in real easy ,perhaps it is that.Tomorrow,I'll have to get the manual out trace the oil routes.
