Rod Bearing Crush
Don't know if I can explain this well, but I was just curious on the Rod side of the bearing how many .0001" can you be out of spec before you start to loose crush and are in jeopardy of spinning a bearing?

I have a set of rods I'll be running in a stroked Busa, they are set up for a larger Honda BlackBird XX Crank pin, I think they might be out of spec on the large side by .0002" according to Honda's Manual. I know I should just have them re-reconditioned to fit in spec, but was curious if this was just me being overly concerned. They have been sitting in the back of my garage for a while, so i'll have to pull them out and re-measure them to make sure. I just recently ran accross bearing specs for the Honda XX the other day and was just thinking that things were not adding up right.
Just recieved trans from Robinson, and will be sending cases to have a little work done on them (Harry's machine shop), so things will need to start lining up to have our LSR Busa running by October.

If you are really talking 2 ten-thousandsths, I wouldn't worry about it. If my rod bearings varied around 2.8 to 3.2 thou, I would be sleep fine. JMHO.
Looking forward to racing with you guys in a few weeks (let's start the chit talking, eh?)

Thanks Dean, I have heard that from some others as well, but just was not sure.
Not that it makes much diffference, but the rods are from across the pond, Arrow I believe. They are a little shorter so no spacer plate will be needed.
Bro was laid off for a couple months and then just had his AC at home go out and some pet problems, he was a little short on cash these past few months, but will be ordering some pistons in a couple weeks, He wants to give CP a try. Then all thats left is to save up a little money and have some head work done.

I have heard good things about Arrow rods, but have never seen one. Pricey I think, especially with the dollar so low. Muzzy's ZX10 turbo pistons are from CP, very very nice. Super thick dome, nice shape, weight and bore matched. Good luck with the build.

Dean, are you going to be at Maxton for the end of june?
Personally I believe CP are the best pistons you can buy for bikes right now. If Mahle are awsome also but selectin for bike stuff is limited so you have to have them custom made $$$$$.....

I am planning to go Jim, with a few small changes to the bike. It will be good to see bikeland folks, and put faces to screen names. What will you be running?
