Orient Express Top Street Bike points series race dates @ RacewayPark, NJ...
Here are the race dates for the 2008 Orient Express Top Street Bike points series saturday events: April 5, 12, 26. May 10, 31. June 14, 28. July12 and is a TopDog Bounty Race. August 2, 9. September 20. October 18 and is a TopDog Bounty Race with the final race on October25. The concept behind TopDog Bounty Races are prior event winners from race days now have a double your dollars bounty on them. Meaning if a TopDog or whoever beats a TopDog during eliminations and make it to the money rounds are now eligible to receive a double payout. That could make it possible to walk away with a total of $650 to win with the bonus stuff. Don't think it is not possible because it has been done before. If you have any questions don't hesitate to call the RacewayPark office 1-732-446-7800, check www.racewaypark.com.
The rules are:
Open to all street type motorcycles, no DragBikes.
Racers must have a NHRA class 3, type D, ET/MX 7.50-9.99 license!
Bikes must appear or resemble street trim, aftermarket bodywork is allowed, working rear tail light.
Factory type rear suspension, no struts or wheelie bars.
Chassis and swingarm mods OK with a maximum wheelbase of 64 inches.
Aftermarket exhaust, street canister or sidewinder OK, but must have a baffle with fiberglass
DOT tires, no slicks.
Race number and dial in plate on clutch side of bike.
Approved full face helmet, full finger leather gloves, 1 or 2 piece leather suit - unless your going 10.0 @ 125 or slower, then all you need is a leather jacket with jeans and leather boots or race boots covering your ankle
Tether kill cord.
Important Info: I have been told the NHRA officials will be visiting RacewayPark more often this 2008 season to make sure those of us that are going faster than 9.99 have the NHRA class 3, type D, ET/MX 7.50-9.99 license! It's real easy to get. All you do is download the license application from NHRA.com or go to the RacewayPark tower and ask for the license application! There are plenty of us TSB races already with the license and will gladly sign off on your testing runs as will the track manager. This is a simple process during the TSB qualifier and eliminations. For those of you not competing you still need the license if your going faster than 9.99 and can do your testing during your runs! Please help RacewayPark in complying with the NHRA rules!!!

Orient Express Top Street Motorcycle Report
by: Rick Mazzola
On March 29, 2008 was the Orient Express Top Street Bike warm up non points race which was not so warm as the temp was 45 degrees with a wind chill making it 39 degrees with 16 street legal motorcycles ready to get the rust out as 8 competitors were ready to take home some money and a trophy. By the end of last season we saw how everyone stepped up their game with the real low ET's that were lighting up on the boards, well were off to another low ET season with times getting even lower! Congrats to John Martin for taking the Maximum Motorsports # 1 Qualifier aboard his Big Motor ZX12 collecting his $50 payout and plaque going 8.75 @ 158! John thanks Franco's performance for all his help!
First Round: Ken Thiedemann on his ZX14 dialed 9.10 and lined up with John Martin on his ZX12 dialing 8.80. Ken left first with a .040 reaction and took the win with a 9.21 off the gas as John ran 8.85 @ 158. Jeff Bowman dialed 10.00 staging against John Arnold dialing 8.85. Jeff took the hole shot and the win with a 10.18 @ 97 off the gas on his Busa. Jim Totaro red lit giving the win to Andre Shearn. Rick Mazzola dialed 9.35 as Rob Guimond dialed 9.40. Rob left first but Rick cut an .050 and crossed the finish line first for the win.
Second Round: Andre Shearn and Jeff Bowman ran a 10.00 heads up with Jeff taking the holeshot but both broke out with Andre taking the win with a 9.91 to Jeff's 9.86. Rick Mazzola staged with Ken Thiedemann as Rick left first running a 9.43 @ 150 on a 9.39 dial for the win. Ken ran his dial of 9.10 @ 155 but gave up the win with a softer reaction.
Final: Rick Mazzola on his ZX12 dialed 9.39 against Andre Shearn dialing 10.00 on his Gixxer1000. Andre left first and Rick passed Andre for the win. Congrats to Andre for finishing runner up and collecting his $50 payout and trophy. Andre thanks The Motorcycle Mall of Belville and his Lady for her support. Rick Mazzzola collected his $100 payout and trophy for winning the first Orient Express Top Street Bike event of 2008. Rick thanks Jason Miller's StreetBike Seminars, Steve Lombardi, Frank Barbuto and his kids Samantha and James also thanking RacewayPark and all the Top Street Bike Sponsors!
