I thought you built your own tool ry?
and Mark if your just pulling the tranny you do not have to take the flywheel off, unless I am having one hell of a brain fart...
I would not touch anything in the top end...
pull the case bolts ouf of the top of the case, but leave the head and block, cams everything else intact...
then you can flip the motor over and just pull the lower case off leaving everything else intact... pull your tranny put the lower case back on and just a couple of bolts to hold it...
get tranny done, then just put it back in and reverse the steps...
I had to do something similar when one time I had my balancer off 180 and did not want to pull everything off again...

thanks for the replies.i already did the valve adjustment first.(all exhaust were tight and 1 intake was loose).the cams are back in and the cover is back on......i 'm just going by the service manual .it would be great if i don't have to take it off....they might say to take it off so it dose not get bent.

Only time you need to remove fly wheel is for crank work.

Yeah, I did. It wouldn't help him anyways as mine is for the 02-newer style. But like everyone else already said no need to pull it anyway.
