Karl! Glad you are seeing the light! You will be a lot lower and Comfortable!

The whole deal is Simple! (Had to be for me to do it)

Slice off the top of the tank about 1 inch above the main part of the tank where it is level to the ground. (Make sure to Slice off the tubes inside at the same level) Then cut out the entire top of the tank from front to rear and side to side. (Do not cut off the tubing inside)Hammer this piece FLAT and lay it on top of the tank and draw around the top and cut it out!

This way, nothing is changed from the stock gas cap or venting!

Take your time to match up the tubing so that you have about 4 inches between the metal tubing to put in the best Has line runner tubing with the non preporated hose clamps and that this section is right over the Fuel Pump opening.

Last, I soldered off the drain tube from the gas cap and in front of the tank on the left side. I also was able to install the Fuel guage. This tank holds three (3) Gallons which will read 1/2 tank of fuel.

About the cover, I plan to have one made from a mould I plan to make but in the mean time, I took a piece of 1/2 inch dense cell rubber and glued Velcro on it an the frame to cover the top of the frame where my chin rest!

Turst me, it is SOO Comfortable with that tank hump out of your chest you will wish you had done this YEARS Ago!
