.018 COMETIC HEAD GASKET??
okay guys, gotta get this motor back together..........,
put a new stock head gasket on, or go with the Cometic .018? What is the stocker anyway?? How much gain can be had? Cometic lists it as near 100 bucks, not sure what the stocker costs..........
Thanks.

the stocker on ronayers its $65.31. not sure on thickness. i was told you can take the middle piece of steel out of the gasket for a bit more compression. i think .010 is good for half a point
btw Schnitz has a cometic gasket for stock bore for $55.90 . doesnt list thickness

I run a TON of timing......., might be a bad idea to go with anymore compression......

it will affect cam timing too. how much? i dunno. it will tighten up the quench, so it might be ok with the added compression.

Well, from input of others, and the way the bike runs now, I am going to put stock back in it like it was. losing 3 pounds of crank mass with my 2001/2002 combo crank will be enough. That along with the ecu mod should have me humming 8s no prob
