Gas in tank at strip
How much gas are you dragracers putting in the tank at the strip? Would your e.t. be a tenth or two slower using a full tank compared to half a tank?

You un-port the fuel pump , loose all forward motion instantly, and crack your face shield right about the 30-40 foot mark. This act totally ruins your pass and may hurt your neck.
I'd call that bad juju what about you? You only need to do it once to get the lesson.
I didn't really crack the shield but I had to check to be sure.

The 14. I haven't drag raced a bike in 22 years. I'm going to give it a shot next year.
I heard before that if you don't have enough gas in the tank, you'll starve the fuel pump under hard acceleration and the bike will fall flat on it's face. I'm sure that's what some of you are talking about.
I'll have to go on somewhat of a diet next spring, maybe get down to 140 lbs. or so. I weigh around 150 right now, not quite but close. I just want to run some good times.
Thanks for all the replies.

On my 14 I start with one bar showing but can make at least 4 to 5 runs with the low fuel flashing and then add just enough to get it to not flash.

go for it Bently!
That's exactly what I did for about 300 passes.
Then I smashed my face shield HARD into the windshield like Gerard. It felt like I broke my fukken neck.
But what works for Gerard & me isn't necessarily for everyone. Maybe its just a TFA thing.

I've done it that way on two hayabusa's and my 14 and never had that happen to me but guess you never know when it will.

Would putting that foam in help keep the fuel from sloshing around?

Both of us ride a 2000 zx12, have 60' in the 1.4s range, both TFA, both had good luck with low fuel until that day, both never want to do that again. Maybe you don't qualify but if you ever do it I'll bet money you will add more fuel forever.
Felt like you would EXPECT a blind side with a baseball bat to the forehead to feel.
