the problem is not --- your comfort !!!!!!
the problem is the wheelbase !!!! if you have more wheelbase -- you need an other spring + an better shock !!!!!!
my mine !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you adjusted your setting on the shock???
I would play with the adjustments of the shock before spending any money on a shock.
Ping Ricky G. and ask him about where you should set your shock, or call his shop and ask him. 856-784-3278
I had to adjust my spring to get my shock to work, later down the road I will buy a shock.

You need to video your passes and look to see what your rear is doing during launch and while shifting gears...
You most likely only need to turn the spring colar a couple turn clockwise since you weigh 120lbs.!!!
Aftermarket shocks do make a difference, but not so much on a stock motored bike...The longer you go the more you need a heavier spring, combined with your weight ...
Others will tell me Im wrong, but I and others have gone fast with a stock shock and stock motor...

The stock zx14 rear spring is good for 160lbs on stock wheelbase.
The stock zx14 swing arm is 24 " long, add 6" and now it is 25% LONGER.
160 lbs/ 1.25=128 lbs.
You might be able to get away with just adjusting the preload.
Personally I think it still will be too soft, the zx14 squats alot!
Suspension compression eats HP, but some is required for weight transfer and traction.
A fine balance between minimal squat and traction is the key.
additionally I might add, I had my rebound dampening closed the entire way to keep the tire planted, and to keep the suspension movement minimized between shifts.

This is for the ZX-10R....In principle it should help.. or at least in the right direction.. like others have said previosly.. may not be enough not saying it is...
here ya go...
If you are having a hard time hooking up you should also look at your suspension adjustments. If its spinning that hard then you try softening up your compression damping and crank your rebound damping all the way up on the shock. This will allow the rear suspension to squat and hook the tire and then stay down to keep the center of gravity lower to help keep the front end down. With the compression damping to tight on the shock it doesnt allow the bike to transfer weight like it should. Combine the suspension adjustments and lower tire pressure and you might be surprised how much it helps.
Have fun...thats what it's all about...
