zx12 questions
OK people I need some insight... Plz only people reply who have tried themselves and are in the know... I find a lot of people who just like to give an opinion reply way to often....sorry
Anyway I have a 04 zx12 that I drive on the street as well as drag race. when racing the bike its lowered, stretched, geared, air shifter and slick...
1st question: I run a 7 inch slick.. Is this overkill?? can I get away with a shinko or m/t shootout? If I go with a shinko will I get more mile per/hr than with a slick? If you suggest a shinko is there a particular one I should go with, considering I would use that for drag only not street use. I have a seperate rims for racing and then street. Would like the stickiest one available.
2nd: Im thinking of going with a big bore kit. From what I can see a 1270 kit seems about the best solution for street and drag. How dependable is it for street use and how much real power extra will it make? Also I have a full titanium muzzy pipe, pcIII, if I add the 1270 kit how much rear wheel should I expect?? and would a shinko still hook up with it???
3rd: If I go with a tiger tail, should I.?? and will it allow me to lower the bike much more than the stock inner fender and still be able to use it on the street?
thanking in advance

Stock motor ? Sounds like the same set-up I had on my 12 except it had a 40 shot, Shinko worked great.

i used a 190 shinko on my bike, best 60' was a 1.59, too bad i fucked up the run or it would have been a lot better than my best run....(my 9.51 had a 1.65 60') i was about 7.5 inches extended, lowered and strapped. stock motor, full muzzy, pc3r running pump gas. 17 51 gearing, it was picking the front wheel up a bit on the launch and in second gear. ran about 10 psi in the tire. another 12 that ran at my local track used a shinko also, he was 4 over, 1270 kit, full muzzy, power commander, pump gas. he had no trouble with traction either.
just waiting for NOX to start making fun of my 60:P he has run way quicker (on a shinko i believe)
