MTC question
Went back to work on the bike again and still I'm having problems with the adjustment.I can get it to work but the adjustment is all the way out.It bothered me that when installing, the release rod had a lot of slop fitting into the inner hub.I'm wondering if I was losing my oil pressure there.
Where the needle bearings fit on the outer hub, again I have a ton of play with the rod moving back and forth a good 1/4".Is this the same as anyone elses?

Yes,I fooled around a little more and found I had the frictionplate spring in.After removing, the adjustment is fine now.
I did measure the stock puller and both are 10.55mm dia. It's just the MTC's puller is cut back until after it comes out of the inner hub and allows it to move.
I was running a double steel to get the stack height sufficient for the lock up arm clearance. When I removed 1 steel and reassembled, the puller slop was gone. However to maintain clearance,I put the second steel back in.

Well well, thank you for telling me where I went wrong. The double steel or removal of the friction spring?By the way,as much as I know you could help me with that offer,Lebanon Valley has no phone service up there.

I did not measure the stack height.I used new frictions with 2.0mm steels.Going by the directions from MTC,which said to adjust stack height to bring the arms to the right clearance.

Do not double stack the steels, no reason for it. Put a bone stock clutch set up in, it, install the lock up and run it........, use the anti chatter rings as well.........

Cool ,a little on the tall side...Don't know if that would mess up your clutch puller or not....
Check it out...Mines at 2.239 And I THINK i'm on the short side, but if I added a steel it was too tall...

I put 12 friction and 11 1.6mm steels back in and ended up with just over .125 clearance.Buttoned it back up and mounted my second battery and started it up.Sounded good to hear it run! A couple more heat cycles and I'll look at trimming the fairing around the cover for ease of removal.Thank you gentlemen.
