spraying on 1270/1361 pistons

Who has experience spraying on a 1270 or 1361? Specifically a dry shot #34 jet or similar (40hp). Just wondering how those pistons (JE?) will hold up with regular use? Anyone have a dyno chart of a 1270 or 1361 spraying?

Your only spraying a 40hp shot....Thats not enough to hurt anything. You may want to look into a higher volume fuel pump though....

LOL

Mike's right- I have the Muzzys high volume pump already installed. I just picked up my Muzzys lockup clutch and a new chain today. I will be installing those goddies tomorrow. I just hope this lockup will help reduce the amount of clutches I'm going through at an insane rate...

I am still experimenting with my lockup set-up but I had a good friend who has one on his Busa, and he said his best set up so far was 4 stiff springs and 2 stockers with no weight? so I would try the 4 stiff Muzzy springs and 2 stockers, and see how that works for you, I have 3 and 3 right now but I will be playing around with it more over the next few weeks! keep me updated about your set-up and we can help each other with our set up.

Isn't what you have equal to MTC's snowflake?! I thought these were centrifigal force actuated. So that the pressure past about 8,000 rpms was too much to pull with a clutch cable? I didn't think these were a mulitstage design, controled by springs. I thought these were pressure plate replacement with the added actuator arms.....?!

Not true. I still have the Muzzy lockup clutch on my silver 12. I can pull it in at any rpm, and have clutch shifted at redline before just to prove that I could do it. My last run of 9.71, I was using the clutch for every shift.

Just installed tonight

Just took these tonight- installed the Muzzys lockup on my pile. Lever feel is the same as it was before although I haven't ridden it yet so I will post more tomorrow.

You can see the actuator arms that will pivot to apply pressure to the stack as RPM increases.

This is what it looks like with the case installed.

Another shot of the lockup itself. Per the instructions and suggestions of others I have not installed any additional weights yet. Going to try it without extra weight first.

I fired up the bike after the install expecting to hear more chatter especially since it's required that you remove the rubber sound damper from the inside of the case cover but to my surprise it wasn't noisy at all...

lockup

I haven't fitted the fairing yet but I think it can be pushed outward using a spacer of some kind or just trimmed. I will probably just trim mine but I'm not sure yet.

As for cost I bought the lockup through one of my sponsoring vendors that hook me up with pricing (Fast Lane Cycles) and they passed it on to me cost + shipping but list from Muzzys on it is $549 I think. http://www.muzzys.com/MZLC-K12/index.html

Bergie,
trim the fairing! It takes me minutes to pull the clutch plates because I don't have to jerk the r lower.

Maybe with the lock up you won't have to go into the clutch as often, but somehow it seems you'll be going in often anyway...

PS: I see you painted your 1361 jugs like stock. Better heat dissapation, eh?

Do you have any photos of your fairing trimmed for the lockup? I'm about to start grinding on mine tonight!

Is the Fairing trim job mandatory or just to make it easier to get back in there?

It's mandatory for use with the lockup unless you create some type of fairing spacers and get much longer bolts. I just trimmed mine on the grinder, took about 30 minutes. Will post pics tomorrow.
