With my 70 lb. bottle, there will be enough nitrous there to blow up every bike at the event.

My poor 12; I'm still in mourning over it.

#1 is there still room left to register?
#2 what is a good top speed tire?
#3 what type of tech in things do i have to be aware of?
#4 how many runs can i expect to get?

i am sure i will have more .. lets start with that :-)

Tech:

1) Tether kill switch
2) Steering stabilizer
3) Metal chain guard
4) Axle nut pinned or keyed
5)Full leathers, 2pc. zip together,
and obvious boots, gloves, snell 95 helmet

Any good Z rated tire some what sticky, but I don't recommend ultra sticky,
I was spinning the U-Soft shinko with a stk motor last March.
You could see the center furring up and it was brand new.

Tire pressure will be the key I ran 40psi, maybe I need to drop a couple psi?

You can get a ton of runs if you spend most of the day in the lanes,
I think the record is 32 passes in a weekend
If I remember right it was a R1, and I swear he ran 175 every single pass,
if that isn't a testiment to a bulletproof motor, what is?

Another thing you will need better than stk gearing too!

We were fighting 10-15mph headwinds last March with stk bike.
My top speed was only 180mph, I think the best stk'r was 184 on a pass with no wind.

You will do well with 18-41 gearing, theoreticaly it should yeild 212mph, without slippage.

To bypass the limiter, while installing the front sprocket, if you don't already have a
speedo-healer, grind down one of the 4 corners of the sprocket nut.
This will lower your speedo by 25%. Afterwards 200mph actual should read
somewhere around 162mph on speedo

Here is a how to I wrote with a pic: http://www.zx14.net/publicforum/index.php?topic=4274.new#new

Looks like i will be headed down there is TG, I have talked to Mr. Turbo about it and he is making gear charts now and will be getting custom gearing made for the mile, since there isnt any gearing avaible for what speeds we are tring to obtain. I am a bit nervous and excited at the same time. Are you going down there Halvefast ?

thanks

Oh yes I'll there Fri early to tech in, so I will get the maximum amout of passes in this time.
Still working on prep and set-up, Dynoing it this weekend. Hopefully I have my head on straight this time.
No blind thoughts of "Oh it will be a snap, I've got the most powerful production bike out there"
I got a serious LSR education last time, gearing, aeros, timing, and alot of thought goes into it.

Halvefast, just curious where your headed to dyno your bike?

Karl, the plugs on my bike were just fouled. Threw a new set in and it ran strong again.
We did not change them when we were having the over fueling issues. I think you must have heard about the compression as well. We did a compression check when the engine was just assembled and it was not that high. Go figure that one. I should be safe with a degrees out and C16 or I might look into C23.

Will give Shannon a call on Monday to see about registering for the Texas Mile. I'd like
to drop in on Friday and get all teched out, but I do not think my bro will be able to get
off work. We will probably do the usual and run in on saturday morning.

Keep us up to date on the motor Karl.

Gary already knows, he was there.

Well Johnny is the man! He tuned me up to 225hp @ 122lbs. with a really fat AFR
Now does anyone have a formula of what it will take to push my 755lbs package to 200mph?
Assuming there will not be heavy headwinds. I'll have the gearing for 218, but will it pull it fast enough?
Only the "Gods of Speed" will know if I have made the right offerings, and if they will let me.

Jeff- yes it got here OK, Thanks!

Karl- Johnny sprayed the bottle for at least 16 seconds and I still have over a pound left in it.
How soon do you think it needs to be sprayed? My intention is top of 5th thru 6th!
Also I think I'm gonna need that bottle, I'm getting screwed around by the other guy.

Oh yea, I also have 1 more jet to go if this isn't enough

Rich,
What i learned last time was to get mph you have to leave the line like 1/4 mi, max it out every step of the way. An mph lost at 1/2 mile is lost

that advice comes from DaveO.

If I were you i would spray as soon as possible (for acceleration) while still having enough gas left to go thru the finish under full N2O assist.

BUT, I know squat about Nitrous...
