Entropy, how did the motor build go?

Next 60 days should go real fast!

I'll be picking up some C16 in the next couple of weeks to test my brothers
and my nos on the Dyno, hope there are no more problems.

Talked to JC the other day and it looks like he will be going for broke and slipping
that hair dryer on that high comp. 1397 motor.

Gary,
is yr bike running fine?? Any more tweaks needed??

Got my motor on the bench, mostly bolted together, cams at 108/110, CR= 16.1:1.

VTP is on the very edge, but might be OK, i am getting input from a couple of experts.

I sure hope JC gets his hairdryer working right, it'll be cool to see him run it

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up. I know most don't run Pilot Powers, but
there has been a recall on some front tires for what might be rumored to be high
speed disturbances.

THANKS GARY!!

Michelin Announces Motorcycle Tire Recall

To date, no accidents or injuries reported

Release date: June 15, 2007 GREENVILLE, S.C. --

SafetyRecall61507.doc

Michelin has notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Transport Canada that it is recalling Michelin® Pilot® Power 2CT and Pilot® Power 120/70 ZR 17 (58W) front motorcycle tires with the "Made in France" markings in the United States and Canada. This recall involves these specific tires only and has no impact on any other Michelin tires. Related actions are under way in other countries.

An examination of these tires showed a possible defect in the tread due to a manufacturing irregularity. No cases of pressure loss have been reported and no accidents have occurred.

Because rider safety is the primary concern, Michelin has decided as a precaution to replace the 120/70 ZR 17 (58W) Michelin Pilot Power 2CT and Michelin Pilot Power front tires, which can be identified by the following markings on the sidewall:

a "Made in France" label

DOT 6UCW 980T or DOT 6UCW 979T

Any consumer in the United States or Canada who believes they are affected by the recall should not wait to receive notification but should call Michelin Consumer Relations at 1 866 324 2835.

The company will be replacing all potentially affected tires in a comprehensive commitment to retrieve from the market any tire that does not meet Michelin quality standards. Replacement tires are available at no cost (including mounting and balancing) to consumers through participating Michelin® motorcycle tire servicing retailers.

Guess who has this tire.........yep Im just lucky that way.
I thought this dual compound would be a good choice, but with all the gas wells
going in around me and the water trucks for fracturing the wells.....maybe
dirt tires would be more prudent.......

Yep, bike is running very well so far! I will see if JC has a little time this weekend to
tweek it a tiny bit at 4400. Other than that it's a great ride. this is what the ZX12 should
have felt like when it first came out.

Glad to hear your motor is together Karl. Keep us up to date on it.

Glad to see a good Kawi bikeland group showing up again at the mile.

Thanks for the correction G, but you knew what I meant ;-)

As for the Michelin tires, we just took a front off a buddy's cbr 1000rr, a good buddy, at the shop. Amazing the bead actually locked! Its all cut and torn up!!! Wild shit! Looks like someone just took a knife to the outer perimeter! And he does Track days and goes over 150 on that bike!

Be safe fellas..... hit me with a shot of Crown when you get back to the hotel....and tell that Fuggin' rookie trooper that I still don't have mirrors or lights on my licence plate!

"....and tell that Fuggin' rookie trooper that I still don't have mirrors or lights on my licence plate!"

I was riding last summer, down a state highway, returning from a funeral in a Texas tuck.
Thats leaning on my left elbow on the tank, running about 80mph. I had taken the mirrors
off and was oblivious to the Trooper that had crawled up my ass. He gets within 10 feet!!!
Hits the siren and the horn.....like I said I was oblivious and unaware.....I was totaly in the
wrong!! I started a slow deceleration and pulled over.....He asked for the fine print and then told me he had his lights on about 2 miles before I pulled over, and he thought I was resisting
I told him "No I just didnt want to stop." He asked why? I told him " My wife ran off with a state trooper and I thought it was him trying to bring the bitch back!" ...After he stoped
laughing he asked what happened to the mirrors and I told him some bullshit story. He laughed some more and told me to fix the mirrors....handed me my licence and told me
to slow down and WATCH my ass!!!! Some Texas troopers have a sense of humor

The pp 2ct replacement is supposed to be here Sep 1
I need a way to retard ignition, do the install of the muzzy dry nos, and the airshifter,
find a way to pack it all in the tail.... I wish I lived closer to Buddy (like next door)
so I would have someone to supervise and help keep me focused.
Working swing shift is kicking my ass
