a break in the Texas clouds

Texas Shootout was cancelled (unnecessarily as it turned out), on Sat cause of rain, and sun didn't look any better.

BUT, I have been waiting on weather since the 1st week in June to get my 3 renewal passes done for my NHRA lic.

So my #2 Son and Daughter set off for the track and drove thru a hellacious downpour, but arrived at a dry Houston Raceway.

It took me 9 min to make 3 passes

Bike is running GREAT, so it's obviously time to pull it down for "the grand experiment", yep!

I have wrapped one of those around a telephone pole........lol

they top out at about 129 or so.........., loaded with cop gear........, and a helical intake and kn cone filter........

Big thing to watch, is cracking intake, and the rear O2 sensors.........., they go out a lot, but I worked for a sherriffs dept, and the mechanics told me , pulling people over in the morning dew set them off when I got the wires wet........

Good driving cars though.........

Vince
i get a bonus for having a gas guzzler. The faster the oil is gone, the higher the price at the pump

nox,
thx for the tip on the O2 sensors. I have a lot to learn but man o man there is a forum called crownvic.com which is HUGE. Friendly folks wanting to help.

First thing i gotta do(predictably) is refresh the drivers seat; foam is shot.

Yeah, i believe that...........

Hey, I turned mine in on the day I quit with 182,000 on it............

Not bad cars, posi rear end, good brakes, ( I can still warp the rotors though) LOL

Put some new good shocks on it, tune it up, clean it out, and it will be a good car.

"Jake:
Car's got a lot of pickup.
Elwood:
It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say, is it the new Bluesmobile or what?"

Yeah, I would be curious to know what it turns in the 1/4

There is a 96 model chevy with the LT1 that runs in NHRA Div 4, in Stock Eliminator, and it pulls the front wheels up, and that class runs a ton of stock parts

VH: I will put the trailer hitch on but it ain't gonna be fun. The holes in frame shown in the directions aren't there (as usual with these aftermarket hitches). grrrrrrr....

Osti & MM: yep, we'll be stylin' down to Goliad in the cop car when you & MM get here in a couple months.

nox: My daughter & I were gonna take it to HRP last night to see if it could break into the 15's but got rained out I'm guessing 15.5 or so
