From Sand Box to MIR Test & Tune 4/22
I got the sand out my ears...now it's time to get some seat time on my 2K12. It's going to be in the high 60's Sunday, a good day for racing . Anyone in the area going to test & tune? Start knocking the dust off the leathers before the GR 2007...let's hook up and lay down some rubber!

$140 for 7 sessions....20 minutes each......about 1 dollar a minute and this track is short, about 1 minute a lap so 140 laps!

What time are you going to be there, in case I can make it? I rode the bike today, and the clutch seems "ok"...maybe I just got it a little hot the other night. Shoot me your cell# via pm, in case we can hook up at the track...

It was a good day for me, for my 1st time running the 1/4. All of my runs were in the 10's:
Run 1: 10.94@135 (hit the rev limiter twice, just added 2 teeth of gearing before heading to the track, so I wasn't used to it).
Run 2: 10.76@137
Run 3: 10.81@136
Run 4: 10.69@138
Now, I know these times are nothing to brag about. And, on my best run my 60 ft. was a dismal 2.02! At the end of last year 1.8's were the norm for me. I am just happy because once I get my 60 fts. back on track, I see 10.3's in my near future...and I am 250 lbs. suited.
So, yes, I know I am slow. But with some work, I like the outlook.
Btw, great to meet you Dave! Awesome 12R you've got there!

Thanks Shane! I still have to get some help with a few things I saw on your bike that I need to do to mine too. We had a great time! I can't wait to June and meet the rest of the crew. I glade you all came out. I got one more run after you all left and I backed up my 9.94 with a 166 with a 9.93 with a 165. I hope I can get a lot more seat time in then I can always run that number or a little bit faster.
Btw, I sent you my # too...later bro

Dave, nice meeting you for the short time it was. I'm guessing this is you(in the pic below) right? Awesome bike and great runs, hope to see you there again(next time we're bringing an easyup at least though, it started getting a littel warm there). Debbie and I really liked the kid on the R6, we got to talk to him a bit.... real nice guy with a top notch attitude.
Congrats on the 9's!!!

Yep that's me... Thanks Todd, I wished you guys could have stayed longer I realy had a great time . It's nice to hang out at the track when you know someone there. Most people around here I know don't go to the track, they just don't think it's worth the time and money. Just to let you know I have an easy up, I was going to bring it with my trailer, generator and a few chairs too, but no one wa sure about comming out, so I left all extra gear at home. My brother and a friend from Cleveland, Ohio comes down here to race their 12's about twice a summer, and I allways bring the trailer and the rest of gear.
Thanks entropy, I love the green too but don't let the picture fool you my bike don't look that good

Cool Dave... we'll hook up next time we're there for sure. Kinda funny that we've been to that track a few times, but as spectators for the AHDRA(all Harley drags)... only to find ourselves both on the track on sportbikes this trip.... a much better view no doubt ;-)
We've got a pretty complete pit setup too(we do the Maxton mile thing), it's just kinda big to be toting around for a 1 day 4 run event on a streetbike(especially when trying to enjoy the ride up there and back to boot).
Debbie(my wife on the Busa) said she may truck her bike up next time so we can bring a small easy up pit(and so Shane has a ride home at the end of the day - lol). So it would be nice to touch base between us to know what each other our bringing and not double up on things to have one decent pit for all of us between rounds(without either one of us having to bring everything).
Northeast Ohio is big bike country(Ohio has the second most registered MC's in the country next to Cali). I grew up going to Dragway 42 and Norwalk with my dad. Akron's my hometown and I used to stomp around the flats in Cleveland as a teenager... so it's easy to understand them wanting to get out of there once in awhile - lol.
Your bike looks good man... don't cut yourself short. Anything with a timeslip under 10seconds flat looks damn good to me - even Ali's duct taped together bike(well, at speed anyway.. which it usually is).

Todd it is a small world...I was born and raised in Cleveland, and we too went to Dragway 42 and Norwalk....hell I raced their once and a blue moon now with my brother.
You know if we get eight people together we can rent the track @ MIR for $800.00 total, on a weekday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
I have done that a few times and let me tell you....you will have a great time...we had family and friends in the stageing lanes cooking food on the grills and the other eight of us were on the track making our own smoke...
Entropy, that's my bike I just think the picture lies about the paint..LOL

Small world it is Dave,
I think Ali and Shane mentioned the track rental gig to us... we'd love to be part of the smoke makers in that, and sounds great having others there cooking out and all too. We'd be sure to bring our whole pit setup with us for that one, but would be a mid/late summer(Maxton off time) thing for us most likely!
Do you plan on making it May 6th, if so we'll be bringing an air tank, one easy up, some chairs and a small cooler full of drinks?
Hey Ali, you in?
Todd
