Best options for extended chain
I've got 4-9 inch extensions on the way. My question is whats the best way to go about attacking the extended chain?
Buy a continuous link? 2 masterlinks and two stock chains? Aftermarket? How many links am I looking at By stretching 8 inches? Tensile strenght? As of right now I have no power adders, but may be juiced in the near future. The bike will be 90% track and a few weekend outtings. 300lbs fully suited. Can't think of any other info to add.
Thanks in advance.

I just put the same ones on my bike, now running 9.50s like it's going to the grocery store.
I stretched to 64" leaves hard 1.50-54 60ft, doesn't try to wheelie at all, no traction problems with my weight.
I put the RK DRZ(DragRace Chain) 530x140 never had to remove any links, just perfect with 17-43
Fought putting extensions on for the longest time, happy I finally gave in.

RK DR chain. 500 lbs less tensil strength than the EK DRZ, which is way heavier.......
This chain is hella tough, very little stretch, and can be ordered in any length.
I have been using it for a long time.

I personally prefer the Tsubaki Sigma... never an ounce of problem and very little stretch... I only adjusted my rear wheel 1-2 times...

Can the above mentioned chains run a 1000 to 2000 miles a year on the street as well?

I read an article where they said the chain companies keep claiming higher tensil strength. It's just an advertising gimick.I have yet to see a comparison for weight between different company chains.

look at it this way, Pro Stock bike runs the EK DRZ. I have run it, but it is higher, and heavy. I went to the RK, picked up a little, and did not have to adjust the chain any more.......
I have done 1.31 and 1.32 short times with a slick and bars on a zx12. That will stress any chain, and will break a DID gold plate in a hearbeat...........
They are faster than an o ring, but if you want to ride on the street, get the o ring chain instead.........
The weight difference is obvious between the RK DR and the EK DRZ. The EK Drz has 630 chain width side plates........, the RK has 530 width side plates, both are a 530 chain.
Look at a bike that has one on it, the EK DRZ is huge.

My Bad, you are right . . .it was RK DR530 that I bought, not the DRZ

I have a DRZ on my zx14 and ran my best pass ever with it ( 8.77 ) ... It didn't seem any heavier than my 530zzz chain .......I saw a guy get hit in the head and back with a chain at the drags, i don't see what brand it was but i know one thing i don't want it to happen to me !!!!

The EK DRZ is a great chain, but not needed in our application. IF i was still running bars and a slick, I would use it.
Good pass, kudos to ya.........
