drag racing boots

i have to get some boots for racing. do i have to get the real tall ones or can i get like ankle high light weight ones, don't need nothing fancy, just legal, any ideas

rules state ,they have to cover just above ankle bone,you can even run the simpson shoes too

I have the Simpson Cart boot/shoe and love them. I like the leather finish instead of the suede. Check out Simpson's web site. Another nice feature is the laces are fully covered.

These are my all purpose Alpinestars boots, they've been on the drag strip on the 14, barnstorming runs on the street, and raced at Homestead on the track bike:

I went to the strip for the first time yesterday and had my good-ol A'Stars on - legal.

I got down to 10.4 at 136.3 - give me a break......I had never been to a track before and launching is an art........that I am no good at .......yet.
