How have you been Buddy? Get any seat time in over at the Ennis track?????
.............or just the usual spots?

Glad to have another 12 in should be another good one in March.

Karl did you mention where at in Beeville you all will be staying. I was thinking with your Oil Company connections you could hook us all up in a five star Beeville Hotel with a Pool, Spa treatment and Massage!!!!

...............................................Just kidding Karl.

Let me know if you will be working on your motor on a weekend as I would realy like to watch and increase my feeble knowledge.

Weather has been unsuitable for racing most of the time. I went out to Redline Raceway about 3 weeks ago and the bike ran strong. That was the last good weather we had.

Gary,
we were considering Beeville, but hell, the Antler's is Inn is sooooooooooooooo palatial I vote for staying there again!

My motor's return to life made the 1st step yesterday; decided on bearings, fit/weighed pistons, rings, etc.

Today gonna button up the bottom end, do valve to piston, quench height, cam timing
I generally start early (ask Buddy) but don't work past 5pm. I'd love to have you come down!!!!!!! (you have my cell, eh)

Buddy,
Ricky Bueno coming????
EXCELLENT
(have i met him??)

+1 for Antler's. They have cameras all over the parking lot. Downside like you said is not alot of food options.

I'll probably swing by around 10 or so to see what you're up to.

Entropy-I talked to Rickey yesterday and he said he wanted to go. I don't think you have met him. I know him from the Hallsville, Shreveport and Rusk tracks.
Him and Super Dave were the star attraction at a Shreveport King of the Track event a year or 2 back.

I liked the Antler's Inn also.

Antlers Inn worked fine for me. Seems like we found enough food to hold us over for a couple of days. Plus they had pretty decent " homemade" lasgne Sat. afterwards.

Entropy, I don't believe we have met in person but perhaps we have chatted on L.A.Busa's web site. My name is Rickey Bueno but everyone calls me "Tricky Rickey". I plan on coming to the track with Buddy. Looking forward to meeting everyone and hopefully making the 200mph club!

I want to stay at the hotel with good security and the most racers. It would be fun to hang out after hours maybe have some beers. As for the spa massage stuff, what kind of massage are we talking about, Asian with release! Just kidding really. But I would like the cameras, ask Shiphteey about our experience at Maxton this tear with stolen gear at our hotel. Pain in the ass to find gear when yours get stolen while you sleep.
I cant wait for march now, I dream about it quite a bit. Its going to be a tough week for us, Texas, then maxton consecutive, should be fun though.

DrRyan,
We are PSYCHED you are making it to the Texas Mile!

Antler's Inn here we come!

BTW, although Antler's is owned/operated by "asians" they are from India, not Thai. Thus a massage with "happy ending" isn't part of the program.

I'll be riding a 2000 ZX12R. Bone stock motor. Full Ti Muzzys exhaust. Lots of little extras but mainly set up for drag racing. I will regear the bike for top speed because right now it would definately be bouncing off the rev limiter. I noticed on the Texas Mile web site that a stearing dampner was required for 140mph + passes. I don't have one on my bike. Is that gonna be a problem and if so, does someone have an extra they want to sell and for how much?

Rickey,
Yep, gotta have a steering damper and have to have a metal chain guard. Someone recently saw a damper in the forum classifieds or somewhere???

I think that Gary (TRNorBRN) saw it

Yep in classifieds, a must have........But i do not think the Texas Mile requires a metal chain guard unless the rules have just changed. Maxton does and they like it to stick out passed the sprocket I believe.

Those Dampers aren't cheap for 12s.

Gary,
both Ryan & I (and maybe Buddy?) were warned at tech-in about plastic OEM chainguards last time.
"I'll let it go this time, but next time come with metal..."

also, I was warned about my helmet being a few months past 5 years; same "I'll let it go this time..."

Gary or anyone else for that matter...Do you know if the stock damper on a busa is ok for Texas mile tech or do we need an aftermarket unit? i.e. Scotts or whatever...

Any you would recommend?

Thanks

looks like we're gonna have a contender for the "traveled farthest" prize at Texas Mile.

John Lawson is coming (as a spectator) from Dubai.

This bud of mine, a Brit motor head, has wanted for some time to see what these "flyers" are all about. Bikes, ralley cars, quads, he's into all of them.

The Bikeland Texas Mile pit crew now = Cristina Osti + Eva Nichole + John Lawson

Stock Busa damper is good Osti. My bro has ran this along with most the other Busa guys out there. I am still trying to hunt down that Honda # for the lower fan temp switch for the Busa for you. I should realy Organize my garage one of these days.
