what's the best tire?

So what is the best street slick and why is it that real slicks won't hook on the street? And I heard the shinko slick is the best for the track. Not the 003 but the no shit slick. anybody that has an imput would be greatly appreciated.

I think the Pirelli Super Corsa's will surprise you.You can use the SC2's on the street and the racetrack. The SC1's and SC0's are softer compound than the SC2 ...all are awesome tires!

Rickey Gadson uses the sc1 on the 8ball ZX14 !!!

I and Brooklyn use the sc2s...

The sc0 is perfect for street racing and real long arms on the DragStrip!!!

The super corsa's are the lightest tire out there!!!

The take offs are just the same as new!!!...You just need to know the proper care for DragRacing with a streetbike tire!!!

Not only does Richie sell you a take off cheaper than a new tire, but tells you the proper care and what to do, to get the tire to hook everytime!!!

The ones I got were perfect for me (1 race pull-offs). They used the sides, I used the middle.

I have seen people switch back to Shinkos after 2 passes at the strip. Rickey is the only one who seems to be able to hook up with the Pirelli. Never tried one myself, always had good luck with the Ultra soft. -Dean

yeah I think that was my problem. I had the shinko but it wasn't the ultra soft. I wonder if the break in period is the same on the u soft as the regular shinko.

Just curious, what is the proper care? I always just spoon tires on, fill with air and go.

Thanks

The problwem I see with takeoffs is the profile is all wong. When you put a new tire on, the more you drag race , the wider the contact patch becomes, and the very edge is good rubber. A take off is to pointy shaped and the contact patch will never be as wide as a new tire and the edge is worn out rubber. People push takeoffs because thats what they buy and sell. I will never put a take off on any bike. Profile is wrong.

I will never buy another new tire. The Michelin Power Race PR3 hooks like a street walker in Vegas
