Old MT slicks?
Someone gave me a never used MT motorcycle drag radial (B1 compound) that is is old and has started cracking. I've heard that slicks can only be heat cycled a limited number of times before they permanently loose their softness no matter how much rubber is left. I'm wondering if the drying-out process occurs through and through in a similar fashion so that softness cannot be recovered or if they can be reinvigorated by seriously burning them down?

Cracking wasn't a very good description. Dried would have been better. It turns out it was a shoot-out slick not the B1 radial. You know how you can poke your finger into the compund and leave a mark on a shoot-out slick, well it got some sun on the tread and lost some of its softness. The sidewalls were like new, I wouldn't even have considered them otherwise, but I did pass on them anyhow.
