Air box modifications

In addition to maps, Brock includes air box modifications with his exhaust systems. I've searched for these mods, and came up empty. Any help would be appreciated. 2k zx12.

Thanks,

More than likely for the Suzuki's, really not possible to modify the airbox on the Kaw's as they are part of the frame, except for the ZX10R.

I know some guys seal their boxes, modify the resonators, modify the filters, and remove the clean air hardware. I just wondered what else...

Thanks,

Some block off the resonators, and others seal leaks in the box. Many think Hans' snorkel makes more power. I've heard pros and cons for blocking off the resonators, and I guess sealing leaks in the airbox couldn't hurt, and I don't know what to say about the snorkel. My 12 has the clean air system removed, the crankcase vent mod and BMC race filters.

Plugging the snorkel and feeding compressed air will help you seal the Airbox / Frame and give some free h.p. at speed.

On the resonators, I do the best of both worlds. I tape the plug portion for a tight seal. Plug the drain hole at the bottom and cut the plug tube short so it does not stick up into the airstream of the duct. The resonators offer additional volume w/o affecting intake air speed.

I also do not need the noise canceling function of the plug tube (like blowing across the top of a beer bottle).

Hans snorkels make more power sitting still. Perform equally up to @ 120 and start to loose ram pressure above 140.

psycho,
you are selling yr pristene 12?
Well, I hope you are buying something else, because I don't wanna lose yr systematic data gathering!

I will put the Hans on for the March Texas Mile and we'll see what happens.

One thing does worry me about the Hans, the sharp lip on the inlet.
Some lil birdies have warned me about possible issues with it at speed.

Megabite;

Glad to contribute........

entropy;

Yes, If I find the right right buyer. I love this machine!! I call it the "Do All". However, at the speeds in which I ride it at times, I cannot risk the legal issues and how it would effect my occupation. Plus, I have a 9 mo. old son I need / want to be around for!

I have thought about a "Track Only" bike to bridge the gap
