Who says ZX12s are not fast???
Went to my regular track tonight, RacewayPark - Englishtown, NJ...
Wanted to get warmed up for the last Orient Express Top Street Bike bracket race of the season!!!
Temp was 53 degrees with a cross wind of 25mph, so we were only allowed to run 1/8 mile!!!
2002 ZX12 with a stainless race Akrapovic, 60" wheelbase, 16-46 gearing, mr9 fuel, oem airfilters, no power commander, foot shifting...
So here are some of the ETs I ran...
r/t..... .150
60'... 1.567
330.. 4.010
1/8.... 6.020
mph.. 122.36
r/t..... -.015
60'... 1.568
330.. 4.009
1/8.... 6.022
mph.. 122.23
r/t..... -.040
60'... 1.609
330.. 4.078
1/8.... 6.100
mph..122.05
r/t..... .059
60'... 1.623
330.. 4.101
1/8.... 6.117
mph.. 122.21
r/t..... .032
60'... 1.600
330.. 4.077
1/8.... 6.105
mph.. 121.70
The ZX12 is so choice and consistant as a MoFo

CR that is moving. I've have always wanted to race an 02 or newer twelve. I have buddy who has a 04 who I am trying convince to let me make just three passes.
For you to be footshifting your riding style must be superb and you must be hair trigger quick with the shifts. Care to share some pointers. I need to get some 1.59 or better 60fts. I know you get plenty of seat time.
Good luck this weekend.

Seat time is the key to getting good ET's with the 12...
Ya have to do the snap 'n slide!!!
After you get the cluch out, pick up your left foot, shift into 2nd without the clutch and when your comfortable then pick your right foot up...There are plenty of times that I dont pick my right foot up till after shifting 3rd...

When you all say Snap N' Slide
Are you meaning Snap the throttle and Slide the clutch?

Ahhh, the Snap 'n Slide!!!...It's all in the clutch...
You stage the bike, lights come down you leave on last yellow THEN you Snap the clutch out 3/4s and Slide it the rest while twisting the throttle till it's locked!!!
The reality of the Snap 'n Slide is that it's easier said than done on a ZX12!!!
