Maxton 22,23&24 sept who will be there?
I'm going. I'm going to try and get my ZX-12 over 175 mph and hopefully get my passes in to get to that point. My turbobusa is not finished yet so i won't be running it.Anybody else planning on going?

Got my 12 set up in the touring mode, Beetle Bags and tall windshield. Gonna ride over, run it and hopefully ride it home if it stays together,
I can't have the fastest bike but I'm shooting for the fastest touring rig!
I'm planning on pulling the bags and running it some more.
See you there Harry,
Dan

Harry made his three passes to get his license today. His final was a 170mph run, this was on his 12, he had his turbo 'Busa there but it's not quite ready......it will be a runner though!
I left the house yesterday morning in the rain (20 percent chance) and rode the first 225 miles soaking wet, it never let up until I was well past Charlotte. After it quit raining I rode for 30 minutes and my bike just shut off. I check all the obvious stuff and ended up sitting on the side of the road for 6 hours until Chad got to me with a trailer.
It seemed to be fuel related so I called lee Shierts and he brought me an aftermaket fuel pump since he was coming to Maxton this morning. After some rigging Chad and I got the new pump in but the bike never seemed right so I ended up spectating all day.....Yee-Haw!
We'll be back at daylight and if I can get my bike straightened out, I'll make some passes but won't be riding home, more rain's on the way.

Today was good!
I rode the bike around for a few miles, everything seemed okay so I went through tech and registered to run. I ran the bike just like I rode it over, bags and all. My best was a 184.3mph with 5 other passes between 180 and 184. I was pleased considering the tall windshield and the bike raised up. I was only turning 11,000 thru the lights and had more sprockets but was too hot and tired to fool with it...........there's always next time!
Harry ran 169.xx about a half a dozen times, Mr. Consistent. I believe he had a good time and we enjoyed his company as always.
Chad rode Brock Davidson's ZX14 to 201mph making him the first person to break 200 on a 14, that was cool. Stock motor with the normal bolt-ons. Brock got up to 196, he really did a good job riding and tuning the bike and was stoked that his prepped bike was the first to 200.
We just rolled in and this oldkawboy is tired but happy.

Dan was flying! I asked him could i ride on the back so i could make it to 175! I had a great time although got a little stressed a couple of times mainly getting through tech insp. I always enjoy seeing Dan, Lidia (sp?) and the boys ,well men really, they are all realy nice people.
I tried my best to go as fast as i could but 169.78 was as fast as i could get.I even tried raising my ass up in the air when there was a tailwind to use it as a wind sail...... ..... but it didn't work! I still had a great time!
